Been using my piled up logs for a few years it worked just fine. But just getting too old looking for a little more comfort to spend the whole day out there in the rain and snow..springing for a big ground blind to put up in my 15' x 15' log blind this year. If it is comfey enough I might just spend the night there.

You can't use them until rifle season anyway on the web site they said it will take at least 14 days to receive them.

I would say it's like power tools go to Home Defect and others for second rate tools or go to an industrial supply house for good quality tools. Do you realy think the part time sales people know how to set up a bow properly. The also could be seconds, if the did sell them.

Did not get it yet either. But registered on the DEC website and applied for a DMP and was notified I got 1 out of 2 choices. It's pretty good gives you all of your past License. Info.

Scent control: Getting dressed/ transporting/storing clothes
thphm replied to Waldershrek's topic in Deer Hunting
Not a thing. just put my orange coat and hat on , hop on my atv and go to the spot I am going to hunt. Back 40 years ago a group of us that would hunt together all smoked, we drove up in a suv with our hunting clothes in the back ( red or orange). we slept in the atv , got dressed in the morning, cooked brekfast on the camp stove and went to our hunting spots. Maby we were lucky or knew how to play the wind but we got our bucks and doe if we had a permit every year. -
61 years ago with a fiberglass bow and arrows a pheasant was my first score.

I have a rock garden loaded with flowers they are hitting them every day.

That"s a good 200 yard + round, popular out west.If you went to the range and sighted it in,it should be good to hunt with.To get use to it better just carry it around empty in the woods, pick out an object and bring it up to fireing positions try standing and other positions mentioned and see if you get that scope on target without moving the rifle around too much. My long gone neighbor was born in Europe and his father was a hunting guide for boar, they used shot guns not rifles.

Every year I would have 1 or 2 come threw or hang around for some time on the property, first hitting the bird feeders then looking for other food sources. I have not seen or had any trail camera pictures for 2 years.Do not need an early season here. I guess the bee keeper eliminated them all.

I do as the title said, only time I wear a mask is when it is windy and cold. Gloves are more important, they will pick up hand movement before staring at you face. I have had them grazing as close as 10 feet from me wearing a bright orange slicker and an orange cap.

L.I.is Bow, Shotgun and MZ loader. Even if he were from L.I. what to say he is hunting some place else with the 44 mag. We did when we lived on L.I.,And hunted the Catskills with the 44 mag and others.

By me they were kinda on the thin side 2 months ago, they sure put some weight back on since then. I even notice twin fawns hanging out not too far from the house are out there eating after there rest while there mom is out there filling here belly.

I have had just about every brand scope out there from B to including Z. I find Bushnell the best bang for the buck. In your case I would have a gunsmith Lap the scope rings in first, mount it and bore sight it.If the scope rings are out of allighment as mine were on my screwed up 742 because of the mounting holes drilled and tapped wrong. You could ruin a good scope. It is not going to make it worst only better.

Is there a land size regulation for Bow or Shotgun hunting on L.I.?

Why not just call the DEC office in Stoney Brook. -
I had a 740 before the screwed up 742 No Problems, My bro had a very early 742 No Problems, I had a Later 742 No Problems and a friend had both a a 760 and a 7600 after that no problems All with in a 1 inch dia. at 100 yards. And all have taken many deer. I just got fed up and traded the screwed up 742 for a 700BDL 30 - 06.at that time.

I had one of them, same era same model , same cal. Try this , If you have a new round ( any) put it in a case spinner or something to rotate it,when rotating it see how much the bullet runs out of round compared to the case, mark where it is out the most.Chamber the round, then take it out and check it again.See if it changed and if so how much. Remington will most likley will never admit it, but back then they had a run of rifles that type that had a machining of the receivers screwed up. The bore and threads for the barrel were not machined true in the receiver they were machined on an angle. Also the drilling and taping of the threads for the scope mounts and the iron sights were not machined straight with the center of the bore. They were on an angle. These were confirmed by more then one good gunsmiths back then where I lived .

Might have better luck asking to hunt furbearers first, then deer. The little furry thing should be raising hell on all the young plants coming up.
