Ground Blind for bowhunting
thphm replied to THHuntNY's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
Most of the blinds Suck if you have a bad Back or an older dude. There all Too Low.Great if you are kneeling or sitting, Go to the stores that have them set up and try shooting with a Bow Standing Up.Anything lower then 80" is a waste for me. -
Took the snow plow of of the JD 4wd. and dug out the mower deck too put on today after I change the oil and filter. And we did get snow here Sat. night and yesterday morning but it rained afterwoods. The turkeys were gobbling Sat. morning here.

Wish there was a nuisance tag number to go along with the dmap numbers on the chart. Sent You would be amazed if the really reported the Nuisance tag numbers( many not counnted ) + road Kill Numbers. -
My best meals were at home when we first were married,My fartherin law owned a store and he was the butcher, hand picked his meat at the local meat distributer, catered to wealthy people that wanted the best. There was only one dining place when we would go out that could compair to a good steak dinner, but once they built up a repetation the quality of there food went down hill.

I have used metal signs, still up after 10 years, but faided,Yellow hard plastic, after 2 years fell apart,The plastic coated on the roll, the ones I put on plywood still up 5 years later, the ones stapled to trees gone.Tee ones on plywood,I nailed the wood to the trees with the old nails with 2 heads,I wish I had more of them easy to remove if you want.

Tractors are made for working the soil,AtV have there use spraying, seeding and pulling wagons.I had a plow on my last ATV,did not bother to put one on this one.My riding mower 4WD came with a plow it has power tilt and up and down,no more winch and cables.Took the tow behind York Race and mad it into a 3 point hitch for the larger JD tractor, can raise and lower it with out getting out of the seat also tilt it with the top bar.You can buy attachments for the tractor you have and they will do a better job.For less money then for the ATV.This summer I am buying a plow setup for my older pick up.No more sitting out in the open in 0 degree snow storms. And again I use my ATV just about every day weather permitting up and down my mountain side.If I were to buy another,it would be a side by side seat UTV with a top and a tilt bed in the back.

And I live on the side of a mountian,No flat ground either up or down.

WNYBH When I was looking for what you want, I stopped at the local Artic Cat dealer, the Service Man, recommended what I bought a 500 cc auto,it has a high and low,2 or 4 wd.I pull a small wagon,10 - 12 cords of firewood a year, tons of stone for stone walls, even used it to winch out my JD tractor wedged between trees.7 years and no problems at all and I use it just about every day all year round.
-
One problem this time of the year also is the Birds they are hungry as can be, seed lieing on top of the ground will be eaten by them.So don't count on the frost. It is amazing how much seed I put down last year and they ate most of it.

Where I worked before I retired It got so bad you had to watch where you walked an wear a hat when you walked out of the buildings. They would have people come in with vans full of dogs to go after the big birds.Should deport them all back to Canada.

Browning BAR .308 Accuracy issues
thphm replied to ApexerER's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
I feel your pain, I had the same problem with a Remy. 742 years ago.Wound up being a machining problem for the threads in the receiver for the bbl.And the holes for the iron sights were drilled and tapped, not inline.Been bolt action ever since,Except for my Ruger ranch rifle that will shoot inside a 25 cent piece at 100 yds.. -
X2 on that,If you are near the Gilboa Dam or have running water as streams that run into it.Call the DEP because your septic system has to be approved by Them.before you do anything.

Pulled all of my buckets, made enough until the next season, made some coated walnuts last night for a snack, yummy. My 2' and over trees were very poor producers this year, the younger ones were good.
-
