  1. People are failing to answer a key question for the OP....YES, there are wackos on this site (no slam on you Skyhunter!).... We are all a bit nuts!
  2. Cappyice-First forum I joined was iceshanty.com...first fish through the ice was a crappy...most ice fishing for me is lives up to my name!
  3. The new dicks in yonkers(ridge hill) does not carry ANY hunting related items..the reason given to me by a rep in the store...Yonkers is prone to crime and offering hunting gear may encourage more violence. NEVER AGAIN WILL DICKS ReCIEVE A DOLLAR OF MINE!
  4. But this may be literally killing two birds with one shot- he gets birds away- I get to hunt something now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  5. Has anyone ever soughtt/been granted the special permit to kill resident geese in NY? I have been asked to help out an owner of a baseball facility - geese are recking his fields and the kids uniforms so he is looking for me to act sooner than later
  6. Best state? INFANCY- feed me, clean me, let me nap!
  7. Sweet matching set...I bet he dumps those during a snowstorm and they stayed locked under ice untouched! Good deal
  8. As a hunter whose profession is teaching, I hear some bizarre left wing crap often. Just recently a teacher brought up some concerns for a student because he was wearing a camouflage sweatshirt to school on a fairly regular basis. I foolishly asked what the problem is and was treated to a ridiculous rant about guns and school shootings.
  9. What's the cost if you dont mind me asking...I am seriously considering a lease due to all of the hassles we had this year with other people.
  10. There are god cops and bad cops...good lawyers and bad lawyers...good plumbers and bad plumbers....and believe it or not, good teachers and bad teachers. As a teacher it is amazing to me what kids HEAR from their teachers. I have two 3rd graders and a 4th graders. While I live them more then anything, I take what they say happening at school with a grain of salt. It is amazing the things they say that are not actually accurate. Not to say the OP's kid is lying ... All I am saying is that kids say the damdest things sometimes and often misunderstand. Do crazies exists In education? Yup...many of them are the parents whose children can do no wrong...sorry for the rant- preparing for my snow day tomorrow with a couple of cold ones! jK of course
  11. I caught a tiger trout out of the west branch of the Delaware up nea roscoe a few years back...wish I could find the pic...sweet looking fish
  12. hey wooly - I hope you don't mind other people hijacking your journal with our finds/findings- as the "resident expert" it seems people think of your thread when anything shed related comes up! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  13. Nice wooly...I came across a nice group of does in a small patch I walk. Followed them for a bit and the led me to a nice looking 8 still packing. I am fairly certain i have one of his horns from last year-he is my new obsession!
  14. Good list...godfather, jaws, usual suspects Add my favorite- "One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest" Jack Nicholson and Louise Fletcher win both best actor and actress from the same damn flick-real good and deserving of awards "Medication time, boys."

    Congrats on the experience
  16. While life is busy now that I am in my late 30s(married, three kids), I still feel that I have more freedom to set aside time to hunt and fish then I did when I was a high school or college student. I am established now-wife, house, job, etc. Then, I was doing all I was told to do to get myself established. I am hoping to introduce the game to my kids early and I am prepared to accept them being too busy for it from 16-20s- by then I am hoping THEY will want to get back into it after the establish their own lives.
  17. Nice find...congrats on number 1
  18. Good decision to pass on him this year- let him grow- maybe he will find his way to my stand in wetchester next year!
  19. Nice- not easy to stay motivated this time of year
  20. We typically whip up a bunch of appetizer type foods for the eve and play board games til the ball drops - this year we are at Woodlochpines in PA for some family fun ... Can't miss the Honeymooners marathon on PIX 11
