  1. Miller High Life...best ever and remains the champagne of beers!
  2. Thanks guys-screen capture works on I-pad. I just suck with paint and crap! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  3. Can I capture/copy/paste a google earth image? If so, how? If not, what programs are you guys using to show arial shots of your land? How are people marking them with red dots or boxes? I need some advice but can't explain it well enough without a pic.
  4. Suit looks good..keep us posted about the scent and if the colors ran after washing it.
  5. Bad things come in threes....so you should be good for the next three years or so! Hang in
  6. That's a slammer, meatmuzzy - what's he got a child-proof horn on his right?
  7. Last year I hunted bow straight through(a lot of time in 3s) and never took out the gun. The larges buck I saw all season stayed 50 yards away from me during gun season and there I da with my bow (between my legs!). Still worth it for me
  8. Wait a sec predate...I thought that looks just like I spot I hunt in Putnam. Which is also good to know cuz I want a MNT LION!
  9. I know I don't have the confidence to make a severe quartering to shot., especially from a treestand. The downward angle seems to get out of the boilermaker so quick.
  10. I never heard the vanilla extract thing before...interesting - any logic behind that?
  11. Do you get a lot of blank pics from the swaying grass in front of the camera? I live the vid of him appearing from the brush..nice deer
  12. One year prior to Biz - 2006 also in Putnam(3n) - my first harvest of any big game.
  13. 3n and 3f-2for2---- plenty to make a fine tag soup! Jk....I hope!
  14. What did you do Wooly, color that one buck in with crayons?
  15. WHAT?!?!? But they say it is REALITY TV? How can it be scripted? I'm sure that deer that died on the PETA ladies lawn and the ensuing trespassing was not staged ...lol!
  16. Interesting side topic here-what is your experience with other critters and deer behavior- are active birds and squirrels a good thing? Part of me says yes since the woods are behaving normally. However, most deer I have seen in the woods is absent of other critters. Great shots BTW grow.
  17. Look at him strutting around at 6:00 like he owns the place! Hope that continues for you.
  18. Anyone want to fess up to their OCD/neurotic/superstitious behaviors prior to their hunt? This does not include clothes prep or scent killers(unless you need to spray your left foot 13 times and your right foot 10 times). When I exit the parkway on the drive to my hunting ground I play"Sympathy for the Devil" by The Stones. The day i shot my first deer, this song came on the radio as I pulled up to hunt. Played it ever since. I also need to pack Peanut Chews as a treat-they are getting hard to find in local stores so now I order bushels full prior to the season.
  19. I have been on two guided goose hunts on LI but not in a bunch of years-I don't know how easy it is to access lands since our access came through the guide obviously- 1at time was great fun with lots of geese-2nd time the same guide was not bringing his A game from our standpoint-refused to relocate even when the birds were showing us their landing zone Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  20. Can you imagine being in the car that was video taping that episode?
  21. This little guy was on my trail cam today
  22. People point out illegal happening all the time on this sight typically related to bait in trail cam pics. Often the illegal act is unknown to the person posting the pic (and maybe even the DEC taking the call-scary!) as in this case. While Biz's tone may have been a bit forward/sarcastic(did you REALLY think he called and reported?) pointing out the legality of illegality of piling food is helpful to some who do not know an innocent act of apple kicking can be seen as baiting by an officer that appears on scene(on lands that are being hunted).
  23. Phade- would you be willing to share a sample of your letter? Access granted to me has always been face to face but i never start with can I hunt here. I like to find "pick your own" farms that are used to having strangers on their property. My first trip is to simply patronize the business typically with my children and make contact with the owner(no discussion of hunting), next time back I'm there to patronize again and feel out the hunting possibility. If yes, awesome. If the answer is no, I still get some locally grown pickings and plant a seed for when the owner is ready to say yes(crop damage is a large seller for these farmers). Of the two properties we have access to both have some restrictions for us to follow(where and when to hunt during their main picking season) but it is typically not a great bother to comply.
