  1. My buddy uses the g5's - he loves them and any deer he shot, has dropped within 80 yards. However, they thankfully dropped that quickly because the bloodtrail was minimal. One deer he saw drop I had a hard one finding when I arrived due to the slight trail left. I just went from grim reappers to thunderheads (5 for $39) and have found them to fly very similar to my field points and I am hopeful they will rip some holes
  2. They are definitely more beef-like then the old adage of "tastes like chicken." I have tried roasting the whole Christmas goose one holiday and found the breast okay (2 martinis may have helped the overall enjoyment!) and the legs super tough.
  3. Extreme archery in mamaroneck is good shop in westchester
  4. Was I trolling when I subtly and sarcastically implied the OP was baiting? If so, find me a bridge to live under! I agree wi WNy's advice- get that wrong info in writing.
  5. Nice rack! Those apples fall in nice handy piles.....lucky I guess!
  6. Is spotlighting illegal anyway even without firearms in the car! Not looking to bust your uncles chops but I think I heard that somewhere??? Need someone to enLIGHTen me!
  7. Asa...is this what you are taking about? Pretty impressive https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xijmge8_NJw&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3Dxijmge8_NJw
  8. I like to butcher my own but in a "controlled" environment- seems like there would be a ton of hair and debris all over that meat. I would not Choose to do this method if the drag was possible.
  9. Saw this used on "wild justice"(I think that is the name)- California game wardens- pretty cool - the one they had was operated with a remote control(head turn, tail twitch, etc.)
  10. My guess for the best parts left would be the heart and liver.
  11. Anyone catching any snapper/baby blues in the Westchetser area with some size? My kids love the action...I love the pan fry when they are big enough
  12. Pretty cool explanation by the biologist - that's one tough fish...good move chucking it though
  13. Trip has come to a close - 2,847.3 miles over 20 days - all went as planned for the most part and the kids had a blast. Two parts of the journey were dropped-visiting my cousin in Beafort(he was in assignment for a five day stint). The other part we did not get to do was Cumberland Island- massive storms predicted(and they wee right), ridiculous heat and the fact that we were staying at a beautiful beach-near condo in New a symrna beach that we were able to extend. Cumberland Isalnd is on the family bucket list by for March or so. First Dusney experience for my kids and wife and they were blown away. Glad to be home! Time to start shooting the bow!
  14. Unfortunately, so man people just listened for the entertainment value(He's so funny!) and rarely HEARD the message - wake up and take responsibility for yourself!
  15. I do a lot of smoking of beef brisket and pork on my weber charcoal grill. I never tried smoking venison. I would be nervous that the venison would be very dry due to the lack of fat that is so necessary for great smoked meats. I would go the jerky route since dry is what is intended.
  16. It is the same three colors cycled through no? ....yellow, green, brown???
  17. 3 does and a fawn. Pretty funny since the fawn cant quite reach the feeding tube and one doe just ran off a scrub 4 point.
  18. I'm just finishing a nice glenmorange scotch and going to bed....by 8:00 tomorrow we are under way! Kids are fired up and not sleeping! Maybe that's good so they sleep tomorrow in the car - we added a Washington, D.C. Tour or two before heading to Mickeys place....wish me luck-hopefully you will not be reading about the loving father who drive his family off the road due to road rage!
  19. How about some new curtains??? Those seem way too close to pink to be in a cabin of that magnitude!
  20. I don't know if I would take a deer with that "look." While a trophy deer is nice, I enjoy the meat and butchering process too much to have any doubt that the meat may be tainted. I'm hoping for your sake that wooly is right and its some surface annoyance
