Also hornaday American whitetail is what I use in my 308. Federal was a close second in accuracy.

I don't like bow hunting out of those, Barley any platform to stand on and your away from the tree. But they are good for taking a kid gun hunting.

This is why openin day of gun I go real deep into the private land oak trees I have access too. Everyone walking in after the sun is up and leaving early push all the deer down to the area I'm in, it turns into there bedding area during gun season!

Refletch, if your going to be shooting a lot get yourself a quality setup, if not just have a shop do a few arrows now and then.

I can shoot 1" with my cheap ass savage 308, if I'm on a bench with sandbags. But that's not realistic at all so I shoot freehand and I'm happy with hitting a 6!inch target each shot at 100.

You probably shouldn't start at 100 next time. Start at 25 making it a hell of a lot easier to get sighted in. Shoot your first shot, without moving gun look through the scope and move the crosshairs via the adjustments to your bullet hole.

Get them home and hang them, skin them, ice in the cavity if need be. I have 2 ac units ready to go in my garage to cool it down if I have to leave it for a few hours. -
12 gauge Remington 870 special field. Hastings barrel 4x32 scope and hornaday slugs. Savage 308, bushnell trophy 3x9x40 with 150 grain hornaday interlocks. My hunting areas areas in broome county are shotgun only.
