  1. I think you are right but those old does are just as wary as those big old bucks. I also think that you should be able to choose what you shoot and not have someone tell you what you can or can't shoot. How would everybody like it if they said that you no longer can hunt with a compound crossbow or rifle shotgun or in line muzzel loader. There are some that would love it but the majority would have a fit. Why should anybody be able to tell us what we can or can't take it should be our choice.
  2. Not to mention that the old does are just as wary as those big old bucks.
  3. Turn the phones to SILENT the night before. Sents if you are going to use them A compass even if you are sure you know where you are. (tracking a deer can leed to unknown zones) Safety harness Nobody said not to forget your bow and arrows or muzzelloader Arm guard Fingers
  4. I will be walking in at 6 so I am in stand by 630-645. It always seems to go a litle slower the first walk into the woods.
  5. Be carfull you can not track deer legally with your own dog. (and get caught). I have used John Jeanneney people before if you call him he will give you a guy that is local to your area and has the permits dogs etc. They are a huge help if you gut shot a deer.
  6. Hey if you smell like a doe it might be good. I personally would wash it with baking soda and a sentless detergent. I use the 20 mule team borax. It might smell like doe to you but it might be off sent to a buck or other deer. I wouldn't take the chance.
  7. If the yhave any embossing on them you can just type it into google in they should pop up. If you want a ball park look for them in ebay. I have a amature collection of bottles and that is how I find out about what they are worth. Here is another site that the people are very helpfull. Blue glass is very sought after not so much the vicks bottles but the ones that are common. http://balljarcollectorscommunitycenter.yuku.com/
  8. I would put that as a hard quartering to shot and someone rushed the shot. By that I mean didn't wait for a broad side or a less angle quartering to shot. Who knows what actually happend though. I have shot deer with my bow and said shit that was a bad shot and the deer goes down withing sight. Get up to the deer and it was a good lung shot. It is so hard to tell eactly where the arrow goes untill you find the deer.
  9. I think bucks are opertunists. The doe might be in her first menstraul cycle. She probably came into heat early and the buck was just taking advantage of the situation.
  10. Why dont you just try to find a new needle thing. not a whole new site. Then you just have to replace one thing.
  11. The Rain isnt a big deal. I guess not if you are in northern zone. Bow hunting rain is a disaster.
  12. Yeah but you can use buck shot for yotes can't you? THe whole deer cane and whittail rage is only for lureing in whitetails right?
  13. BIZ On some of the broadheads you can change out the blades over and over again. They are cheaper that way. I use muzzy's and if you hit a deer and the blades break you just switch them out. It is a nice option.
  14. That is a huge deer but I if I remember right I saw that pic last yeah Now I could be wrong but it looks familar.
  15. I want mine I have yet to get it I have been waiting 5 years
  16. What a dumb F____. Why wouldn't you clear the gun first oh wait he is a dumb A__. Man some people shouldn't own guns.
  17. Schuylerville is nice for hunting if you can get some chunks of woods you won't have a hard time finding deer. You are looking at some hills nothing to big more of the rolling kind. It is more flat land no mountains untill you get over towards willard mounatin wich is over towards easton. Good luck
  18. Been there steve it sucks. I learned quickly after that to identify it.

    deer pee

I have in the past. If I take a doe early on I try to save some it can get mesy though. Nothing like a natural cover sent. If I take a buck early I take the hocks off and use them too. I like to use the most natural sents as possible.
  20. In bow season it is the rain. I won't chance a hit and not find. Some hits are perfect and they still don't bleed good. With a gun I will go and sit in a blind in the rain or heavy snow. I won't take long shots if it is raining I want a good clean shot with a gun. I like being out there as much as possable.
  21. It is cool to see them play around like that. The buck looks like damn it my piece and quite went all to hell. LIke them.
  22. I learned that be ready no matter what. I walked in and was on state land 100 yard form the trucks and there was a wide racked buck trotting away from me because I was just walking in on the trail. It was nice to see him though. Be Ready ALL the Time.
  23. I havn't tried the FOC thing yet but I am going to try it out. I am currently using 2117 aluminum arrows right wing helical feathers. I shoot them out of a long bow recurve hybrid Martin Vision. I can knock knocks off at twenty yards not all the time but I keep them in the kill zone.
  24. Hey there I grew up in saratoga county. Saratoga is a big county that goes from the adirondack almost down to albany. If you give me an idea of about where you will be hunting I ight be able to help you. I know of only a few big dairy frams left in saratoga.
  25. I would think someone should have some trail camera picks if the are RUNING WILD. I don't think these guys are going to have a problem inhabiting ny. Doc as for a market I think the only market they where brought into this country for is for hunting them. I think if they grow like the southern states we will have a problem. It will be interesting to see how they grow and if they take hold.
