Haven't done any bears yet but I definitely will if given the chance. Alot of taxidermists send bear rugs out to companies who specialize in rugs because it's a giant pain to do them without the proper equipment. I think it's because they need to be degreased REALLY well and need to be worked and stretched after tanning to stay soft and pliable. Plus you need a somewhat heavy duty sewing machine to go through the hide and heavy felt they use. The taxidermist just skins, fleshes, and salts the hide and sends it to the rug company to do the rest. I could definitely do that for you! Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

Good idea bringing a backup rifle. Wish I'd thought of that when I went to Maine for my moose. Rained like hell on opening day and ruined my cheap Bushnell scope. I ended up just using my guide's gun so it all worked out but it's always good to have a backup Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

I was gonna say something similar about spending that money on other hunts around the country and around the world for that matter. Sounds like you do a fair amount of whitetail hunting already and there's alot more critters I'd like to check off my bucket list personally. Some guys are just obsessed with whitetails and I respect that but if I had that kind of cash I'd be out west chasing an elk or in newfoundland for a woodland Caribou. To each his own though. This is a project I've been working on for a while and we just released this video a few weeks ago. I call it a project and not a band yet because it's just me and a vocalist for now. I do all the music and he does all the lyrics, singing and video production. I play all the guitars and bass and program the drums myself with drum editing software. If you have a buck patterned then early season is your best chance at killing him before he starts changing his routine. Early season is a great time to put a few does in the freezer too. Didn't have to work until 1pm yesterday so I hit the lansingburgh reservoir with my kayak in the am now that I live about 100 yards from it. 3 keeper bass and a bunch of shorts. Saw some huge splashes so I went to investigate and saw a big old carp. Talked to a guy as I was leaving and he said some girl caught a 5lb bass out of it last year. Yea I don't understand the hate against replica fish. Either way that fish has to be completely painted top to bottom so whether it's their actual skin or not doesn't really matter. The taxidermist has to put all the fish's colors and patterns back on with paint so it's not like you're getting the exact markings of your particular fish exactly the way it came out of the water. Plus the detail in these replica forms are so good that they actually look better than real fish and they always will. Seen alot of old fish mounts that look like hell. The skin dries and splits or the fins curl and crack. Plus there's always a possibility of missing a microscopic piece of meat or fat in the fleshing process and having the thing stink. I've only mounted a few fish myself but I'll always recommend a replica over a skin mount Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

Worked a summer program for the town of coeymans when I was 14. Basic maintenance at a park down the road from where I grew up. Maintained and marked hiking trails, painted picnic tables, cleaned trash and a ton of weed whacking. Then worked for my buddy's father's landscaping company all through high school and a few years afterward. Then bounced around working for a bunch of different contractors. Framing, roofing, siding, drywall, windows, insulation, flooring, kitchens and bathroom remodeling. Started working for a moving company on the weekends and the money was a lot more than what I was getting for construction so I switched to full time. Been doing that for almost 12 years now.
