New World's Fastest Production Rimfire
Dinsdale replied to dbHunterNY's topic in Rifle and Gun Hunting
I see most yotes here during deer seasons; and with shotgun county, and not being able to carry a centerfire for a good portion of season; be interested in how this plays out. I'd shoot a yote in a heartbeat with 20 grs at 3000. More intersting is to see who at SHOT will come out chambering for it.....and who else jumps on the bus. -
Do a quick search for "homemade African shooting sticks" and it'll give more ideas. Some folks use bicycle innertube to wrap the joint and up the sticks for padding (the type most seen in the field) or a vacuum cleaner belt doubled around the poles(they're like a big o-ring) You can find bamboo poles in some garden shops that work good.........I used some mahogany edgings made into dowels from my shop for my set and the inner tube.

T-shirt girls and airline ads....... Wish I could combine both and go somewhere with one. -
Tips don't mean $hit....dented or otherwise. Most of the bullets I favor have lead tips. Maybe for a serious bench guy looking for one true hole at 1000 yds. That bullet melting stuff has been around for a long time......I have never seen a argument for it proven, but have seen some real physics numbers applied to disprove it and I think its BS. Maybe in a 22 Loudenboomer.

I think you should call BATF in the morning and turn yourself in. It's the only way out at this point; I bet they have already looked at this thread and have your address from your ISP. Better to just serve 10 or 20 years now instead of having to look over your shoulder. Of course you'll need to look over your shoulder in the big house too.......but for other reasons. Damn....I'm out of tinfoil for a new hat.

Hmmmm......just do a search..... ATF 4473 Should get a good link for you.

Never seen that one....but I guess at box stores/higher volume, they get a few folks who can't figure out what to check off and it makes it go smoother. I'm used to the system and it just takes a couple minutes to fill out......."yes" and then all "no's"; skip 12, do 13 14,flip it to next page sign and date 16+17 LOL

Partial to Stephen Dodd Hughes or a Martini-Hagn myself. Check out that Duane Wiebe take down 404Jeff on AR.......I could go slumming with that rig and still hold my head high. Can't say I dig the custom bases, think a claw is classier.

Heres what you filled out at the counter; http://www.atf.gov/forms/download/atf-f-4473-1.pdf Scroll down to the explainations for each question to 11a.

In a typewritten note found at the scene, Spengler revealed that he obtained the weapons from Nguyen, who for a time lived next door to him in Webster, Hochul said. From; http://abcnews.go.com/News/woman-charged-york-firefighter-ambush-gun/story?id=18084774 If she has a police report of them being stolen, she'll be cleared.(and I'm betting investigators have already checked that) If not....say hello to your new bunk mate, especially right now in the political climate. She's going to be the poster child for the 40% of FTF transfers without a backround check. Wait til' the Feds crawl up her behind.

Yes.....thats a portion of the NICS check. Any record of criminal activity, mental health (depending on status) is stored in the data base.AG is charged with keeping it up to date. the states are charged with supplying the current info. Like when a restraining order is isssued, that goes to NICS and stops a purchase. (i don't know the turn around time for data entry) It changed after VA Tech (with support of the NRA and Brady Gun folks by the way). Before Va Tech there were a few issues with what was considered confidential info or not, the revision, signed by Bush, tried to resolve some of those issues and the VA Tech shooter would not pass a NICS check like he did. They got caught up with definitions of inpatient and out patient but he had already been declared mentally ill and should have been flagged. Here is the bill; http://thomas.loc.go...40:@@@L&summ2=m http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d110:HR02640: Click on text of legislation for a short summary. And note #3; Requires the Attorney General to: (1) ensure that all NICS information received from federal agencies is kept accurate and confidential; (2) provide for the removal and destruction of obsolete and erroneous names and information from the NICS; and (3) work with states to encourage the development of computer systems for notifying the Attorney General when a court order has been issued or removed or a person has been adjudicated as mentally defective or committed to a mental institution. If you read the text there are a bunch of safe gaurds to appeal any issues.

I don't want anything. Anyone willing to work off a debt by hauling slurry to get started gets a freebee. My stuff is in a friends reloading room, I can grab it after Christmas as he's out of town til then. I reload for some calibers there....375H/H, 8x57IS, 300 Wby.....the Wby is a new barrel and we still need to refine a load early next year. Others like my 270Win, I have a few years supply when I bought out a dealer who mismarked his pricing and I bought the whole case of 50 boxes that my rifle really likes (and a bullet type I like). And no I didn't take advantage of him, I pointed out the mistake and we agreed I'd buy it all for what was his price. Couldn't buy the parts at the time for the price. 44 1/2 boxes to go. LOL

Just in case many missed this, not a good day to be a kid in this world; Man with knife injures 22 kids at school in China BEIJING (AP) — A knife-wielding man injured 22 children and one adult outside a primary school in central China as students were arriving for classes Friday, police said, the latest in a series of periodic rampage attacks at Chinese schools and kindergartens. The attack in the Henan province village of Chengping happened shortly before 8 a.m., said a police officer from Guangshan county, where the village is located. The attacker, 36-year-old villager Min Yingjun, is now in police custody, said the officer, who declined to give her name, as is customary among Chinese civil servants. A Guangshan county hospital administrator said the man first attacked an elderly woman, then students, before being subdued by security guards who have been posted across China following a spate of school attacks in recent years. He said there were no deaths among the nine students admitted, although two badly injured children had been transferred to better-equipped hospitals outside the county. Neither the hospital administrator nor the doctor would give his name. It was not clear how old the injured children were, but Chinese primary school pupils are generally 6-11 years old. A notice posted on the Guangshan county government's website confirmed the number of injured and said an emergency response team had been set up to investigate the attacks. No motive was given for the stabbings, which echo a string of similar assaults against schoolchildren in 2010 that killed nearly 20 and wounded more than 50. The most recent such attack took place in August, when a knife-wielding man broke into a middle school in the southern city of Nanchang and stabbed two students before fleeing. Most of the attackers have been mentally disturbed men involved in personal disputes or unable to adjust to the rapid pace of social change in China, underscoring grave weaknesses in the antiquated Chinese medical system's ability to diagnose and treat psychiatric illness. In one of the worst incidents, a man described as an unemployed, middle-aged doctor killed eight children with a knife in March 2010 to vent his anger over a thwarted romantic relationship. What a messed up place we have made of this world.

New rimfire round coming out
Dinsdale replied to MACHINIST's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Wonder who the partner is? They won't bring something to market without a gun maker already in the works. Can't think they'll keep it a secret all the way to the SHOT show.
