My problem isn't the time to burn at work, it's saddling my wife with getting 2 kids out of the house multiple days in a row. So to give her a break I rarely take consecutive days off. Which to be honest, sucks. A week in the woods is something I need to keep sane. Been dealing with it for 7 seasons now, 2 more left. Once both kids are getting on that big yellow bus I'm blocking off November 10th through black Friday.

This hat fit my head perfectly, it was my favorite cold weather hat. And I lost it I think grabbed it on the cheap at Dicks 10 years ago. Any idea what brand that little white shield is? It was fleece, with extra padding on the top. It puts me in mind if Scent Shield? Any help is appreciated!

Was picking up a clevis twist hitch for my disc today at TSC, they have all sorts of plot bags there. So like sodfather I'm a novice at this, my question would be to you guys with experience:. Is there any reason, really, to getting a couple bags of whitetail institute vs buy the same seed from my local feed supplier? I know they say it's genetically engineered to taste great to whitetails, but in the end is that really going to make a difference? Sod does your buddy mix from a local feed store, or combine the bag stuff?

I haven't seen mine for a week now, but I stopped throwing out birdseed. The Old Boss Hen had rounded up at least 4 more hens and added them and their babies to her retinue. Poults were getting real big, but you could see a serious size discrepancy in some. It was fun to watch the hens kind of herd the little buggers too. Stopped throwing out seed because they seemed way less focused on it, squirrels were getting most of it.

I let the subscription go on Field and Stream a couple of years ago. It seemed to me it was about 75% ad revenue that I was paying for. Only thing I still get is American Hunter from my NRA membership, which is little too...... propaganda-tastic for me to take seriously. Some of the articles are OK. I was glancing through some while I waiting for my barber to get done yacking today, and there's a ton out there. You guys do any magazine subscriptions? I'd like stuff about QDMA/plot management, new rifles, etc. Any suggestions are appreciated!

I need to try and get some seedlings off my Chestnut oaks one of these years. Big long fat acorns that when they drop, deer go absolutely bananas for them. Saved a few last year but never froze and potted them.
