My older daughter is finishing her first archery class today, and I'm thinking about getting a cheap compound to continue practicing on. Anybody have a recommendation? She's 6.

If it's a slow day I like to put a load of birdshot into bush next to a Jake. It educates him, makes him much more wary down the road.

Not in a while. My buddy and I are on a pretty even footing for birds. He's only got one arm, so I wind up shooting more than him that we both call in, simply because I can pivot in any direction. Helluva good feeling when we get him one though. Which is usually every year. I got a good video last year of this nasty old hen beating the crap out of our deek, and then him walking up on her, mid deek beating, and her taking a few steps towards him like "You want a piece too?". I'll upload it sometime.

Word of advice, and I think someone else on here mentioned it : The butt, and the sling, are noisy. I'm pretty sure the sling clinking on itself cost me a nice 8 this year. So, I recommend duck taping said places to muffle it.

I'm a big boy and it gives a nice amount of back support. You're going to be half laying down if you try and plop down without a tree, but it will keep you 50% upright (that's what she said). With a nice tree behind you you are very comfortable.

I bought that a couple years ago, no complaints. Got a lot of good little pouches for mouth calls, slate calls, box calls, you name it. The kickstand part works pretty well, you still want a tree to lean on though.

I think that's a green heron. They are a bird that uses bait / tools to fish. I have a breeding pair that nests in my pines at my house in the summer.

I'm jealous of the bucks you fellas have out there. We travel out to chataqua county at least once a year, my wife is from sinclairville. We're both huge bills fans. That being said : Not for love or money would I live out there. Hell no.

I think it was on here, at least 5 years ago, somebody posted a video off a trail camera, of 2 coyotes doing something similar to buck down in Texas. They'd already hamstrung him, and took turns worrying him as a team, eventually dropped the poor bastard. Don't like coyotes. Found too many farm animal corpses to do anything but loathe them.

I've had one for a while, it's the only thing that makes doing dishes, pots & pans 8 hours a week bearable. Pay the 5$ a month for unlimited music, but just on the echo. If I hear something on Liquid Metal I like and want to hear it again, or an entire album to see if I want to buy it, it's great. It pays for itself on days like yesterday when I'm making 25 lbs of venison sausage! Flip side, even my 2 year old knows how to use it to play Frozen.

What kind of hair does this look like? Not coarse enough to be deer. A little blood in the pee, females seem to be in season in 4H. In a different field found a couple breeding spots in the field where I always do. Near as I can tell at least 3 different pairs.

Middle of the field, when the dogs get tied they stand in one spot for a while. See a whole 10 foot spot trampled with dog prints in the middle of the field, usually that.

You guys are way better than me, found lots of beds and coyote breeding spots, no horns.

My pooch, Ted, whose full name is Theodore Roosevelt <last name>. He's actually the great great grandson of my childhood dog, whom I will upload last . He enjoys jumping 5 feet in the air to catch a frisbee, long walks in the woods, chasing bunnies & squirrels. He's a pure bred Australian Shepherd, my family has been breeding them for 30+ years.
