  1. Again, from your link: HCP who are not symptomatic: Results are negative from at least two consecutive respiratory specimens collected ≥24 hours apart (total of two negative specimens) tested using an antigen test or NAAT.
  2. No. As far as i'm aware, positive is positive and the clock starts on Day 0. There are, however, 'crisis' guidelines that allow HCP to work before Day 5- requires a declared staffing crisis and only under strict guidelines as to avoid patients with immunocompromised conditions, etc.
  3. From your link: Allowing HCP with SARS-CoV-2 infection who are well enough and willing to work to return to work as follows: HCP with mild to moderate illness who are not moderately to severely immunocompromised: At least 5 days have passed since symptoms first appeared (day 0), and At least 24 hours have passed since last feverwithout the use of fever-reducing medications, and Symptoms (e.g., cough, shortness of breath) have improved.
  4. The nonsense above is not accurate. Please seek out reliable sources. This is the most recent information from NYS DOH: The NY State DOH updated guidelines state that in “limited circumstances where there is a critical staffing shortage, employers may allow a person to return to work after day 5 of their isolation period” only if the worker meets the following criteria:
  5. That's exactly right. Most of the internal parts are plastic now and the gears will strip. I had to replace internal parts in mine twice in the first few years i owned it. The older ones had metal internal parts. Somebody explained to me that the plastic parts are meant to protect the motor from burning out when it's under too much stress- the plastic parts fail before the motor. Not sure if i believe that or if they're just building them cheaper now than years ago.
  6. I passed the Rocky Point parking areas on my way home from work yesterday and saw a truck with a deer loaded on the back. Couldn't get a close look to see if there were antlers. But, it looked like a pretty big deer.
  7. Don’t you guys have anything better to do?
  8. Everyone is aware of this. But, the fact remains that vaccinated/infected people are requiring medical care/hospitalization at much lower rates than the unvaccinated.
  9. Do you mean that you wouldn't go to a hospital if you get sick? We've seen many people in the hospital who felt that way until they started getting very sick.
  10. I got one of their mid weight base layers last year- not sure what it's called. It's relatively thin and light, fits great, has a hood and thumb holes. i like it a lot. I wore it all season and definitely found it to be better than whatever I was using before.
  11. Edmeston area. From Long Island also.
  12. I bought property in 7R in 2008. Got permission to hunt it before officially buying it. Killed my best buck ever on that first day. The hunting was all downhill from there. Sold it a few years later and been in 4F since 2014. Much nicer area and much better hunting. Best of luck to you.
  13. What a crock. Grouse is just a troll that should be ignored. Eight consecutive posts on this thread until he finally got the attention he so desperately craves.
  14. Do you mean that they just won't accept results that they don't like? Like we heard about after the previous election?
  15. Demonstrates the power of a relentless disinformation campaign. People believe what they're told if it's repeated over and over- especially if it fits with their predisposed point of view.
  16. I'm in the Stony Brook area. My understanding of the Nissequoge is that the Town of Smithtown makes parking and launch access difficult- i think it's residents only. I could be wrong about that.
  17. Ok. I’ve never had a problem. I see DEC officers every now and then near my house where I hunt and have always been reassured that we’re legal. Haven’t tried Stony Brook. But, I know that Nissequoge has a lot of restrictions. Maybe you can reach out to the local DEC officer beforehand in whichever area you’re looking to hunt. As far as I understand, the Hamptons are mostly locals-only. Not surprising. We hunt a lot out of Point Lookout. Loads of brant and some puddle ducks. I also hunt locally on the north shore in eastern Suffolk. As long as we’re below the high tide line and shooting over the water, we’re legal.

  19. Isn't that the famous quote from Roger Ailes in the early days of Fox 'News'- 'people don't want to be informed, they want to be entertained'. Cable 'news' is not news, it's agenda-driven opinion and propaganda. People who consume it and think they're being fed straight news are rubes, whatever their political point of view.
  20. Steven Rinella says to shoot them through the ribs for this exact reason.
