  1. 5ft is too big 6 is way too big. Raise the mower as high as it will go and run the tractor in the lowest gear. After you get it down if you do it often enough you can get by with what you have until you find a smaller tow behind. I had a 4ft pull behind that was made for a farmall cub and it worked like a charm I just didn’t have a tractor small enough to run it so I sold it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. The anker’s are very well liked. I used one ice fishing and it works awesome! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. You already have one fletch missing cut the other 2 off and put a new knock in it and shoot the bare shaft through paper then you’ll know if it’s perfect. Or put a big fixed blade on and shoot it. Many people shoot mechanicals because they’ll hide a lot of bad tuning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Unless your practice tip has a bend in it you have a tuning issue. You should be able to shoot any broadhead and field point interchangeably with a properly tuned bow. You say your bow is tuned but I can almost guarantee you will se otherwise if you shoot it through paper. Remember ever tiny bit that your knock is off center of your broadhead on impact is killing your KE. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Anyone have one of these? Seems like a pretty good idea for me hunting alone all the time. The ability to text home once in a while would be a nice bonus. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Anyone interested in a Remington pump this is a good one before Remington went to shit and a very fair price from the pictures. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Hopefully both! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Anyone else started getting in shape for deer season? I’ve been walking/jogging since turkey season and doing pretty good for a cripple. Today I did 9 miles with a 40lb pack and 3lb ankle weights wearing hunting boots stayed over a 3 miles pace the whole time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. How is that pick to wear all day? I’ve looked at it a few times but I’m not sure I can ever go to a backpack. I just don’t carry enough stuff to justify a backpack but it would be nice when packing out meat, my current setup is an old packable pack that’s made from a parachute material weighs a few ounces rolls into the size of a sandwich bag but can fit a boned out deer it’s just extremely uncomfortable to carry loaded. Do you notice the pack being loud going through the woods? The material seems like it would make a lot of noise going through brush? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. What kind of pack are you putting it in, how are you going to keep everything from making noise while walking? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Good luck and congrats! I’m on my 11th year applying and hoping for it one day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Fixed for me, I’ve went back and forth a few times but will probably never shoot a mechanical again, slicktricks for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. You’ll be hoping your gear works when you’re standing next to a buck a mile from your truck. Having packed out a handful of adk bucks I can tell you it still sucks. Unless you’re going to carry a frame pack all day or walk back to camp/your truck to get a frame pack carrying meat and horns out of the woods isn’t much fun. If possible I would much rather drag but sometimes it’s just not possible. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Yea, it will shoot 1 1/2” at 100yds. A 9mm from a carbine or a pistol will kill deer but it would be very low on my list. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Mine is way more accurate than you’ll ever be. Accuracy isn’t an issue. Would I carry it in the deer woods? No. Will it work for a deer gun? If you’re willing to hold off and pass on all but the best shot opportunity’s then absolutely! If it was the only gun I owned and wanted to deer hunt with it I would load my own hard cast lead bullets around the 115gn range loaded as hot as possible using a mold with as large of a meplate that will feed reliably. 16. If you’re going in that far with a bad back what’s your plan for getting a deer out if you get one? Most anyone can hike that far but getting a deer out from that far in is a completely different story! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. To me I think you should take the next state test, not sure when the next one is but they aren’t very often. Getting into county is easy around here because 75% of them switch to state corrections once their number is called for the academy. Making your own schedule is nice as long as you’re willing to work and your family is ok with not seeing you for a few days a week. I haven’t worked an 8hr shift in over 2 years. If I’m at work I’m there for 16hrs. I do 3 shifts a week once a month 4 shifts a week but then I have 4 months when I don’t work at all. My schedule this year works out to around 130 days worked this year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Yup makes all the bullshit from work worth it when I walk out of work that last time in September knowing I won’t have to hear or smell a convict for almost 3 months. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I’m a CO for the state. The job takes a certain kind of individual. It’s not a rewarding job but has a ton of benefits. I have my schedule made for the rest of the year and will work under 130 days not counting OT and have oct 1 until dec 22 off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Good thread! Some really good info here! Some of you guys carry a ton of stuff makes me wonder how far in you’re really going if you’re going to be toting all that stuff? My survival equipment is very small and light. From years of doing it something’s have been added and and taken out over the years but has stayed constant for about 5 years now. Everything I carry fits in a very small wool fanny pack. 8x9’ piece of tyvec ironed and vacuum sealed in a package the size of a sandwich bag and thinner than a box of matches. Small Corona folding saw “this is more for processing deer for the pack out but is dual purpose in a survival situation” Life straw 550 cord 10ft with inner strands 30ish’ with inner strands removed. Lighter x2 Tinder, can’t remember the name of the company but they come in a pack the size of a hard candy wrapper and have a fiber material that lights easy and stays burning for a bit. I have 2 of them in my pack 2 large construction trash bags folded and vacuum sealed “smaller and a sandwich baggie and thinner than a book of matches” 1 small single aaa led flashlight. 2 1ft sq pieces of aluminum foil for boiling water/cooking. I’m sure I’m forgetting stuff but that’s about it. I feel 100% confident that I could survive way longer than I would want to with what I carry into the woods when I hunt the ADK’s. I haven’t been on in a while but how is there 130 posts on survival and stormy hasn’t passed on all of his wisdom? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I love them, I use them for running inline boards. I got a super deal on these but was about to buy an expensive adjustable pair but now that I have these I have never wanted/needed to adjust them. On a small boat like mine they also work awesome for rod storage, especially traveling. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. What an awesome 3 days on the lake! 19 kings all together. Biggest was 23lbs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Haha, that might be true but I bet yours is better at driving the boat in a straight line! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. 7 Kings today biggest 17lb. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
