  1. Only time I score any deer is to prove people wrong. A measuring tape and scales can be real heartbreaker to some. Especially when their 200lb 140” buck is really 145lb and 110”s. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I can’t imagine temps too cold in NY for me to hunt. Wind velocity is way more important than the thermometer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. i should be crow hunting out here instead of deer hunting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. You have 11 months to work on that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I like that the reporter describes it as “attempts to unlock” with his bolt cutters! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. That’s surprising, back when I was instructing advanced ccw courses 9 out of 10 guys that carried 1911’s it was their only pistol. Many of them would be asking for recommendations for new guns after the 3 day courses. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Have you ever carried anything else? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Shoot it left handed. That scenario doesn’t justify toting another gun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Wore one on a deployment because I had a battalion commander that wanted everyone to look the same and he liked leg rigs for sitting at his desk. Having worn one for 8months I couldn’t imagine trying to wear one hunting. I would rather put a full size 1911 in my cargo pocket than a have a holster strapped to my thigh! 10. I don’t know how many critters I’ve killed with copper bullets starting with the old Barnes X’s don’t have a single complaint on them. Go light and push them fast, only mishap I had with them was an 06 carbine and 180ttsx’s found the buck and had good blood but didn’t seem to transfer much energy and took a lot of shots to finally drop him. 11. As others have said one of the most important tools for reloading is a crono. I reloaded for years without one. Reloading without one is like fishing without a fishfinder. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Yes, not really sure why you would want a pistol on your leg while trying to hunt tho? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I would have to be pretty hungry to a shoot 2 3/4” slug. I wouldn’t shoot one of them on a bet! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Don’t go any tighter than full, back when I had to hunt with buckshot I used an improved modified and it shot awesome. Never had good luck with dogs or deer using #4’s they lose too much energy past 30yds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Inch long 6lb trigger. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I think if anything that video depicts one of the big downsides to the 1911, calling an instructor that’s shot more rounds than all of us combined a moron is short sighted. Same reason you often hear about cops having ND’s when you’re doing it every day you’re more likely to make a mistake. It’s safe to say if that was a glock that wouldn’t have happened. 17. Are you kidding, that big lug ankle carry’s a desert eagle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Back when prices wee through the roof Ny decided if they added taxes people will buy less of it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. 1911’s are finicky by nature a 1/1000 here or a bit of a burr there can make a huge difference in reliability. There’s a reason why cheaper 1911’s should rattle and why good ones cost 1000’s and are hand fitted. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Highly doubtful, like most people I’m a lazy CCWer I like to dress then put on my pistol not dress around my pistol. I have never found 1911’s to be as reliable as other options. That being said I love 1911’s, 110 years ago they were an amazing gun 110 years later there is a long, long list of guns that are much better for the task of being carried daily. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I own 4 1911’s and couldn’t imagine carrying one. Why anyone would carry a gun that heavy that holds less than half the bullets of something equal size is beyond me. From time to time during the winter I’ll carry my glock 20 just to remind me why I like carrying my other pieces so much. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Couldn’t agree more! Negligible recoils difference and a bunch more energy and as much as I hate to say it might have a bit more “forgiveness” on a less than perfect shot. I have no I’ll feelings towards a 243 but in all the rifles I own I don’t own a 243 because it does nothing all the others will. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. RUN!!!! If it doesn’t match the above criteria for S/N’s. If on the left side of the barrel near the receiver there is not a JM stamp put it down if there is look at the S/N if it checks out great if not it’s not worth the risk. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
