I’ve said for a long time the only way I would watch a hunting show or a reality show is to make one that combines both. Have 6 episodes with X # of contestants hunt public land in 6 regions north west, south west, north central, south central, north east and south east. Have a day of scouting and 4 days of hunting in each area. Have a scoring system based on rack score, age and weight also giving more points for a buck shot on the first day than a buck shot on the last. Some bow missions and some gun missions. It’s impossible, too many factors. Back in 1970 sports afield magazine named Larry Benoit the best deer hunter in America. You shoot some nice bucks, not everyone can spend the amount of time you and I can in the woods every year. You and I hunt completely different styles and areas, if shooting a big racked buck was my goal I would shoot 130+ inch deer every year as well. Instead I like hunting my way and haven’t been to my lease in Ohio or PA because all my time was spent in the ADK’s and Maine tracking bucks in the snow. Life is nice when you have options. I’ve let 31 different bucks go this year. On my 300 acre farm here in eastern NY I’ve got 7 trail cams and the biggest buck I have on cam here is maybe a 70” 2yr old. Trophy’s are different to everyone In my neck of the woods a 3yr old 100” buck is a trophy, in the ADKS a 180lb buck is a trophy. In Ohio and PA where I hunt 140+” buck is a trophy. My neighbor is 60yrs old probably has 50 sets of antlers in his garage and he thinks a 3” spike is a trophy and the other day when I helped him load his on his wheeler he was grinning ear to ear and was still shaking. I learned long ago not to give a shit what others think or do, if people are ok with shooting spike and it makes them happy good for them, I’ll shake their hand and congratulate them just the same if it was 200”s. 30 seconds on the old googler reveals that it seems to be pretty standard to put a logo on the top of a Scope ring. maybe Leupold cheese ain’t slid as far off the cracker as you think?? Me I couldn’t give a shot either way I’m a function over form guy I don’t hunt with a gun that I haven’t took a saw to one end or the other of, if a company wants to put their brand on something usually that means it’s a quality product and they take pride in their work something I tend to look for in a product. As I was getting ready to park at my 100acre wood lot 2 shooters walked across the road onto my property so I drove around the block parked at he other end and walked the edge around to try to cut them off. Used a rope I had hanging in the barn then measured it, didn’t pull too tight just got the slack out. Hung 2.5hrs after being shot. Hoping to get a couple more deer this year and I’ll measure them out of curiosity. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Haha, when you’re debt free and live very cheaply you have to come up with things to waste money on. I have more fun setting up new bows and getting them perfectly tuned than I do hunting with them. I liked my experience so much and couldn’t find a new bow I liked more for so long I started shooting recurved and long bows. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
