  1. My dear old Mom makes some amazing quiche (with meats and cheeses, of course). I've never felt less manly just because my belly is full of tasty goodness.
  2. I haven't watched it and won't watch it. It's always part of an agenda. Sometimes subliminal, and sometimes right in your face. Watch some of the videos about loggers being hurt because of eco-terrorists spiking trees in the the northwest. They'd rather kill a person than see a tree come down.
  3. Is he looking for a new drummer? Just kidding. I can't get my legs to work like that any more. Have fun at the show.
  4. I'm currently heating my house with a sugar maple tree that my brother salvaged for me. It was dead and the Town cut it down. Best of luck in your 'sugaring' efforts.

    Drones

I flew some of these aircraft before they were called 'drones', and before the federal government put a stop to it. It was agricultural research either capturing corn pollen distribution for testing or video surveillance of vineyards for possible blight conditions. I was the pilot and someone else did the analysis, in both cases. If you think it's going to be a miracle cure for you with regard to hunting, knock yourself out. ETA: Fun pics are cool though.
  6. Some rather interesting admissions by Twitter employees. You can be certain that everything you say on the internet is being watched by someone. Edit: language warning
  7. Thanks for the chuckle Rob! It brightened my frigid morning.
  8. Interesting thread and great comments! Lots of useful information. Love the folks on this site! I've never owned a Subaru but my brother is on his fourth one and swears by them. In many ways you could say he almost 'drives for a living' as he travels all over central NY as a dentist visiting nursing homes and other adult care facilities. He's paid the same when he's driving as he is when he's delivering treatment, and he clocks about 35k miles a year. All of the routine maintenance is done by the dealer, even the monthly oil changes, and that dealer gives him absolutely top value for the vehicle come trade-in time. As others have said, it depends on the ground clearance needed. If you need a car get AWD. If you need a truck get 4WD with lockout and hi/lo options. I hear Subaru is coming out with an actual pickup truck. Might be a game-changer, especially if the new plant is located in the U.S. ;-]
  9. A man by the name of Walter Durante did extensive reporting from Russia for the NYT in the 1930's. He called it the worker's paradise and the goal that every country should seek. The epitome of civilization. He left out the part where Stalin was killing tens of millions of his own citizens for political purposes. Walter Durante received a Pulitzer prize for his blatant lies as reported in the NYT. The NYT hasn't changed. Be very careful about believing anything coming from the NYT. Rant over. I don't "trophy hunt" and I have no interest in what reporters think about how I put food on my table.
  10. My address is 4612... Would be happy to sample and give review!!
  11. And just like that...you're an even older newbie!! Have a great day!!
  12. It will be spun to be Trump's fault in the coming days by every MSM channel. I guarantee it. The Dems are running out of games to play, and Hawaii is a very Dem state in which to play their games. Scaring the he** out of people with propaganda is a standard Alynsky tactic.
  13. I'm hearing that the leak from that closed door meeting may have come from Dick Durbin. I have no proof of that yet, but he was one of the six congresscritters who assembled the atrocious amnesty package/deal that the President rejected. LOOK OVER THERE! A SQUIRREL AND A SHINY OBJECT. The media is all over it. With respect to immigration policy; the establishment Republicans want the cheap work force, and the Democrats want the voter base. They're working together to prevent the President from changing anything.
  14. Nobody is "parting ways" from anything but the GOP. And those aren't people who belonged in the GOP to begin with. The Uniparty has had control since shortly after Reagan left office.
  15. Trump's base is not the PC left, so no it won't do him any good at all to start caving to the idiotic demands from the left. It's the insistence on idiotic PC demands that got him elected in the first place. We're sick and tired of that crap and elected a President who won't tolerate it. I didn't hire him because of who he is. I hired him because of who he's not. He's not a greasy-slick politician who says all the right things all the time. He gets stuff done.
  16. What these 'bipartisan" amnesty dreamers in congress proposed was total amnesty, an increase in 'chain migration', no wall... everything the Uniparty wants. We didn't hire Trump to do that.
  17. Trump won the Electoral College by a huge margin. There was nothing "close" about it. Hillary had more of the popular vote because the coastal cities vote Democrat by default. If you'd like to see elections without an Electoral College look no further than Canada, and how the Socialist agenda in that country has been advanced. "The tyranny of the cities". It's not much different than what we face in NYS.
  18. So you'd rather that he act more like a Hillary Bush or a Jeb Clinton and just be a mainstream politician? That's not who he is, and I personally like the fact that he pi**es people off and keeps everyone on their toes.
  19. Assuming he said it at all, he didn't say it in his weekly address to the nation, but rather in a closed-door meeting. Which means someone leaked it to the press for political purposes. The comment, if he made it, was directed at countries rather than citizens of those countries, and is 100% correct.
  20. The entire difference in positions, and what Mr. Alsheimer was likely getting at in that quote, is the motivation to hunt. Just being in the woods with these animals is motivation for most people, I'd suspect.
  21. I hope you didn't take it as a personal stab. It wasn't intended that way, and I should have made that clear. Mea culpa. Happy hunting, fishing and outdoors activities to you!
