  1. I've had Sorels since the mid 1970's and used them for everything from construction work to hunting, hiking and snowshoeing to ice fishing. The pair I have now is probably 25 years old or so and is still my go-to cold weather boot. That said, I can't speak to the quality of their boots today because other than the felt liners I haven't had to replace the old ones.
  2. Illegal migrant La Raza protesters storming a state capitol building demanding equal treatment comes to mind. If I did something similar in El Salvador I'd be in prison for life. Hell, if I tried it in Canada they'd escort me to the border. There's no reason U.S. citizens should have to take it.
  3. Anyone who shows less than full support for America, it's people, and it's established way of life. That's the litmus test.
  4. Katie Hopkins nailed it after the London bombing earlier this spring.
  5. People actually are hiding and ignoring it. Biz just told everyone to stop paying attention to it. That's the wrong attitude. The cops are doing a great job, but the citizens aren't helping them.
  6. I get what you're saying, but hiding from it and ignoring it doesn't help. That's exactly how major parts of Europe have already been lost.
  7. I honestly don't have an answer to that NYBowhunter. The U.S. Constitution would prevent most of my suggestions.
  8. I completely agree, Doc. It's all about getting people to the voting booths. NYS is overwhelmingly red by area, as is CA. And the entire country, for that matter. Convincing people that their votes actually do and can count is difficult though.
  9. He apparently waived his Miranda rights and proudly spilled his anti-American guts while in his hospital bed. It's my understanding he gave the interrogators a fair amount of useful information during his voluntary statements. Nothing directly actionable, because he was a loser with no friends to begin with, but plenty of insight into his thinking and MO. BTW, CAIR has the guy's family up and spouting about how they were mistreated when the NYPD was trying to find out if there might be other attacks immediately imminent.
  10. He knows how, when and why he was "inspired". And how, when, and where he learned to make the bomb that failed. That's important information. Just imagine if he had made it onto the subway and the bomb had been successful.
  11. What they fear most is failure. Celebrate their failures! It's good as a disincentive.
  12. I was very close to a nice buck while stillhunting in the Alfred area, just inside the edge of some pine trees. It was a standoff and I was doing fine. A porcupine in one of those trees started dropping pinecones on me and spooked the buck. I haven't liked porcupines since.
  13. Take him to a small room with a drain in the floor and get whatever you can out of his head in any and every way possible. It's what they understand. He's already failed in his jihad and knows that he's a loser. Set him up as an example.
  14. If this @*%hole is allowed to "lawyer up" and to be treated like a common criminal in NYC my head is gonna explode.
  15. Does our Governor, in this press briefing, sound like the mayor of Londonistan? Where Sadiq Khan told the British people that this is the "the new normal" and that we need to just accept it? Dear Governor, It wouldn't have to be "accepted as normal" if these people were kept out in the first place. What's difficult to understand about that? Cuomo will be running for President in 2020, BTW.
  16. Nice score Growalot!! My brother has a steamer/juicer as well and he always mixes the different varieties he grows. Good stuff.
  17. She asked me if her butt looked big in those jeans. I said let me jog around to the back to be sure.
  18. I don't want to be argumentative here, but I've seen a number of guns labelled LR only with bullets from 'shorts' lodged in the barrel. It depends on the particular gun and the characteristics of it's chamber, leade, and forcing cone. If it says ".22 LR Only" there's probably a reason for it.
  19. The shorts certainly won't cycle the action, and they'll probably be wildly inaccurate because of the space between the bullet and the rifling. If one of the bullets in the .22 shorts is seated poorly you might also end up with a bullet stuck in your barrel. Pay attention to the target area to be sure all rounds actually leave the barrel.
  20. My cousin in Houston, TX has about 5" on the ground. I have none. I called him this morning to rub it in.
  21. Sorry to hear it. Unfortunately this is what happens with short-term leases and those that aren't locked down legally in an airtight way. I've never been through it with a hunting lease but had a similar experience with a land lease for a radio control flying club I belonged to for 15 years. We worked hard to physically maintain the facility, but whenever I brought up the prospect of working hard to gain or keep legal control of the property I was shouted down. The owner died and his widow sold the property. It was a fun place to hang out on summer evenings, and I miss it. I don't think you're whining at all. You're putting forth a cautionary tale.
  22. Happy Birthday, and thanks for your vocal contributions to the site!
