I'll attest to memory foam. I had a tempur-pedic mattress and they are the cats a$$. It just envelopes you. I normally prefer an extra firm bed, but would not object one bit to a new memory foam

Work hard. When your body needs rest, it will. I drink caffeinated coffee morning and evening and still sleep like a rock!
-
I didn't see as many quality bucks as last year. They duped me all bow season long, but I know they're still in there. Next week the bow comes back out and I'm gonna rain holy hell on em!
-
My Douglas fir has been up for a week now. I save the needles from the trimmings and make tea. Not that I'm a tea kinda guy, but they are loaded with vitamins/antioxidants

You can't bowhunt without taking the course and purchasing a bowhunting privilege tag even if you do have a bow/muzz tag
-
because bowhunting is the chit! For me, it's not about filling tags. It's about the experience and the challenge

My friend and I tracked a few different groups of deer all day. We saw 7 deer total and finally ended up stalking up on a 4pt. My buddy took him. Not bad for his first deer ever.
-
let those dogs come across the alpha male coyote, then they won't have such an easy time! Those yotes will heel hound those dogs outta the county! They don't much care for intruders
-
Hounds- I've found that tipping the post towards the back a little bit seems to help connect

yeah alot of lure gets better with age, but gland lure will go rancid if it gets too warm. I had some Night Owl gland lure go south last year. My favorite fox bait is a whole fresh mouse
-
yes, once it is confirmed. I'll recap shawns scenario in which he said the shot was taken @ 30 seconds before sundown and backed out for fear of the dark. Now that deer is not confirmed dead til the next day which is now Muzz season.
-
BINGO! Although this rule could be tinkered with such as in the scenario that shawn described, but it could lead to an open shut and case when/if an ECO removes a rifle/shotgun bullet from the animal. It's not worth it and it would be quite greedy.

A few silica gel packets thrown inside may curb the corrosive moisture
-
now just pee in the bottle, set it on the counter, wait til they are watching and walk away. If they'll drink warm "beer" then they're cut off!
-
Did you get your bait set up? I'm gearing up to make some baitcicles soon when the temps get consistently low enough to keep them frozen
-
lol. . I was already hinting to my fiance for Christmas and even showed her the X-CAL Facebook page.

I hear ya on the hardwoods being tough with lights. Do you get elevated in a stand when you hunt them in the woods?
-
My damn rechargeable batteries are taking forever to charge, must be getting low on juice. However, they have lasted 3 seasons of predator hunting. They have paid for themselves 100 times over!
-
Woodjr- you use lights or just wait for bright nights?

The valero also price gouges because they accept the gas reward points from Weis grocery stores. Every $100 spent at Weis gives $ .10 off per gallon.

Tips for using bait on yotes?
PREDATE replied to Woodjr55's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
Canned catfood is probably cheaper, but you'll catch alot of opossum and skunks too with fishy stuff. Something sweet(anise) is a good coon bait. Coons can be caught with a plastic crayfish placed on a submerged trap pan. They'll do the same with a piece of aluminum foil. -
Yep you have a trapwise fox. Were you using bait or lure? Is it spoiled? They will roll in spoiled lure like domestic dogs. You could elevate your set like atop an anthill; then place bait directly underneath. The stepping stone set in shallow water. Place a rock in the water then set your trap on it; cover with grass. Then set another one to put lure on. The campfire set. make a fire 2ft around, then throw some chicken legs in and let them burn up. You have to let the fire/coals completely cool so your trap springs don't get weakened from the heat. Now just set your trap(s) in the ashes. They will paw through the ash looking for food. Good luck. They can drive a fella batty, but at least they are working your sets!

Noodle- being a Broome resident I have noticed this exact thing, but on the other hand I have also noticed the exact opposite where PA (choconut) was .20 more than here. I've also noticed a difference in gas quality between different stations. I refuse to buy anything from a Manleys Mighty mart(valero) or a Hess. I only go to Kwik fill or Sunoco. I can go from JC to Deposit and back on less than 1/4th of a tank in my JEEP that has a straight 6 cylinder engine with gas from Sunoco or Kwik fill. Manleys or Hess gas takes 1/2 tank. Same driving style. I've tested it many times

lol shawn! Woodjr- that was a good question, but they never get up after I shoot em!

You got that right! I'm actually going tonight for a while. Trying to get my buddy his first predator
