  1. NICS checks doesn't keep guns out of the hands of people who shouldn't have them... the reality is it just keeps criminals from buying a gun over the counter... it absolutely does not keep criminals from getting guns...and does nothing to reduce the gun crime rate... but it is a great way for the government to get a data base of legal, law abiding, gun owners!
  2. I'm not sure Steve where you heard anyone say anything about everyone being able to own a gun, what I hear is gun owners sick of repeated anti gun bills that don't work continually being proposed just to harrass legal gun owners in America... I also haven't seen a post where anyone has mentioned that arming as many people as possible would result in ZERO crime... if you're going to make yourself out to be a realist.. you need to use real examples of things that actually are occuring to back up your position. The real truth is that gun laws adopted 40 years ago have covered most issues designed to keep guns out of the hands of people that shouldn't own them... the laws proposed today are simply designed to harrass legal gun onwership and move closer to disarming law abiding gun owners... a realist should be able to see that is what is "really" happening. Stats or no stats...
  3. you smoke when you run???...LOL... maybe you should just go back to smoking.. the stress might kill you if you don't!!
  4. gotta replace it with something else... run, workout, swim ... something that makes you feel healthy... once you start feeling good you won't want to go back to smoking.
  5. welcome aboard the NY hunting forum... good to have ya..
  6. I fly a flag all year round.. Memorial Day is my day to replace my old flag.. this year I will be buying an extra flag for my camp. God Bless those that have fought and died for this country!
  7. I think Montana is a sportsmans paradise... and the mountain scenery is beautiful
  8. NRA, North American Hunting Club, Chittenenago Rod & Gun Club, NYS Big Buck Club Not sure why I am Life member of the NAHC... I do like their magazine... and I like hearing what others hunters are doing around the country... I think it is just a money driven business now that I have been a member for about 17 years.
  9. with trad bow it's always 20 yards and in.. except for maybe some novelty shooting at longer targets for fun
  10. always shot split finger... I shoot pretty well so I leave well enough alone... but I have friends that swear by the 3 under method... either way... practice makes perfect.
  11. Primarily trout here... but sometimes some bass and walleye... I also am a "sucker" for some good bullhead fishing... pun intended!
  12. good point Buck.. well at least that fawns mom got bread early... but yes something to think about
  13. My head is gonna explode one of these days from all the ridiculous things that I hear about our state department... the mafia has nothing on our US government..and yet they call gansters criminals for doing the same things as they do... >
  14. Well if it's any consolation... I saw a live fawn yesterday.. just a couple days old... I wanted so much to pick the thing up and hold it.. but I know better.. it just laid there in the grass motionless at my feet... When I first saw it.. it looked like a rabbit... it was so small. And, wouldn't you know.. I didn't have my camera!!
  15. Readthe part of the bible where God says after the great flood.. that he will never again attempt to distroy mankind with a flood... you wouldn't know it from all the rain we're gettin'
  16. The worst part is that their is absoutely nobody doing anything to stop it on behalf of the consumer... while all of us are struggling to make ends meet and put gas in our tanks.. the White House is holding parties for movie stars and rap singers that cost us hundreds of thousands of dollars..
  17. I don't know how we played football and lacrosse 30 years ago without turf on our fields : ... God forbid a kid gets muddy anymore... or has to play in the rain. I'm not sure how I learned anything and made my way to college having to sit in a classroom with 35 other kids... I don't remember the teacher being all stressed out because he/she had a large class... they would teach all day then stay after school and help the kids that needed it... now the teachers are out the door and on there way home before the kids..
  18. I have had the same experience this year.. trying to get my first bird with the recurve... just haven't been able to coax them in to 20 yards... had 3 gooblers going this morning... not a single bird came my way... but exciting none the less.
  19. Sound like my kinda guy Ken.. welcome aboard
  20. Joe, I gotta disagree with you on that. Ask my fiance how much partying she has done through college. To get the grades needed to stay accepted in a decent school, you have to work your ass off. There are always exceptions... I went to college and graduated with honors and partied my ass off... and I went to a catholic university... It kills me when teachers say how tough they have it... I'll get them up on a roof with me for 8 hours when it's 85 degrees, or they can help me hang 100 sheets of drywall for 8 hrs .. then they'll stop their bitchin' and beg to go back to the classroom the next day...
  21. I also have footage of me calling a six point in from a couple hundred yards.. then I called him back twice more after he walked away twice.. he came by me 3 times all together within 10-15 yards... til he finally got disinterested... that would never happen with a big buck... although I would have shot the big buck the first time by me..
  22. Yeah.. they are really into the Beagle wear now... the coats were designed by them.
