  1. I prefer to not wear gloves because I like the more dexterity I have not wearing them. With that said, if it's really cold, I have a pair of under armor liner gloves that are long cuffed and work amazing, keep my hands warm and still can feel like I'm not even wearing gloves. I really like my hand warmer sock thingy and keep my hands in there. Wore them during bow a couple day ago when it was cold. Loved the long cuffs because it allows me to tuck my long sleeve shirt in the cuff that goes up like 5 inches and keeps the shirt skin tight and out of the way from my bow shot.
  2. Nice! My 7j and 7f... Gotta love it. Now I just need to be able to get a doe within 35 yards.
  3. My opinion is the land is just as much yours as it is theirs. They are the ones to take the risk of putting in a permanent stand. I'd hunt it. They are lucky it isn't stolen like most scum would do.
  4. When I had a motorcycle, I tried a lot of the home remedies for anti foggin. Like spitting on the face shield, rubbing dish soap on it... They both didn't work.
  5. I wish I started hunting at an earlier age. I would have loved having a mentor. Just never had a hunting family or anything to get me started. My first season was when I was 18 (20 now) and I fell in love with it since that opening day. Glad to see people out there who like to help teach the sport and pass on their knowledge. I know personally it was so hard starting out because I had no one, I was in the field googling how to field dress a deer. You guys should understand how valuable you are to the youth. Great job!
  6. If you do decide in trying contacts, talk to your eye doctor. Most people don't like wearing them and decide it's not for them. They always have a free trial pair you can get and use. If you decide you like em, go online and buy them as they are 10x's cheaper there. I only pay like $20 a box of 6 or 8 per box (can't remember which) online using promotion codes when they are available on some sites. My eye place sells the same box for around $40 each
  7. I hate wearing my contacts as they make my eyes sensitive. I wore them all the time in the past from playing sports year round in high school but now that I am in college I find myself wearing glasses 90% of the time. Now that hunting season is here I went back to contacts because I hate the fogging up I get from the cold or face mask. Also when it rains, it is annoying and blurs my vison. So I wear contacts wen possible
  8. Oh the joy a hunter gets when he hears a landowner complain of a deer population problem. As my definition of a deer problem is not having any, but they seem to not like having an abundance.
  9. I like the ease of the buck bomb when the time comes. Just make sure you spray it while your are upwind... A nice gust of estrous in my face won't be your brightest moment.
  10. Either way, when I have my crosshairs on a deer, I didn't even know my 12ga had recoil. With that being said, a .308 is a pretty versatile round and I don't think of any recoil unless you are bench rest shooting for a long time.
  11. I have the venture in .308 and am not at all bothered in the recoil. Nice shooting gun for the buck. The bolt at first on mine was stiff as hell but after some time, it has become smooth. Like that gun a lot. Drops the deer like a train too.
  12. Just use this as more motivation to practice shooting. I've personally learned just in the past year the difference between bow hunting and archery. Once I change from field points to broadheads, and add the fact you are 20 ft up a tree in gear and a harness, everything is different. Try practicing as if you are hunting and use some creativity so that you will be 100% confident because you've made that same shot 10 times before. Best of luck, the season has just started and there is a month even left of bow. You might just end up getting a 2nd chance again.
  13. Nice harvested buck! Did you get good penetration with those broadheads? I used them last year and never picked them up after having 3 different shots, all great placement, just not get any penetration. I'm talking like 4 inches at the max. Most hit a rib or literally nicked 1/8inch of shoulder and just stopped. Congrats, glad they worked better for you. If you want a 125gr spitfire maxx I think I still have one pretty much new if you'd like I'd send it your way.
  14. I just had my climber stolen only after it was left for one night in a tree. Pissed me off because I saw the guys camera about 200 yards away a week before and never touched it. I figured it was the land owners friend who hunts the property. You'd think more people who have the respect and moral judgment to treat others as they would like to be treated. So sickening people just see what they want and take it, there is too much self entitlement in our society.
  15. This rain can feel free to stop. The one time I didn't wear my rain gear... FML
  16. hopefully I'll fill em' but if somehow gun season comes and I have both still I'll send one your way
  17. Congrats! The first one is the best, big confidence boost when you make a good shot like that.
  18. Found one actually a couple days ago while looking at a new area. It was snipped already. It's not my land so not my worries. I think some people are too sensitive to the subject. And the whole booby trap thing is only popularly used with the Mexican cartel in the US and their massive operations growing. I don't think the average teenager would set up traps to hurt someone to protect their pot plant. Just my .02
  19. Heck if my luck keep going the way it is, I'll just be giving away all my 7j and 7f tags
  20. Private land that is next to some county land you technically can't hunt. Obviously someone else is there that shouldn't be...
  21. Yeah I set it up Thursday night was going to hunt it tonight. Never again am I leaving a thing in the woods if it is a new spot

  23. Walk to my spot, found my tree where my climber WAS. Stolen now that is... Really makes me mad people these days have no moral judgment. I found a trail cam and left it alone a couple days back, figured karma could pay off. Looks like that was false. :pissed:
  24. I met one girl at lava (the club in the turning stone) she was sexy, after dancing I went where people smoke to pack a lip. She went with me, saw I had a lip in and actually thought it was sexy. Don't ask me why, I didn't ask why. All I know is I was A-ok with it. The rest of former girls I've met are freaked out about it.
