Well, it was unlucky for the deer I guess. Wouldn't bother me what color it was.

We'd be looking within 20-30 minutes of Concord. Company I work for has a facility there and if a position opened up I could bid on it and transfer. With 15 years with a company I like already, it'd be nice to be able to stay with them, but in a different State. I like New York state, but hate the State (.gov) of NY.

Wife is hung up on New Hampshire. I like it too but I'm just afraid that in 5-10 years it's going to become NY/Mass. That and the taxes aren't that much different than here. As soon as I can swing it financially I want to take a couple weeks and head out West. Check out South Dakota, Montana, Idaho and maybe Wyoming. I've been to Tennessee and while it was nice, it was hotter than two mice screwing in a wool sock.

That's pretty much why I wanted it too. I've never had a burning desire for a Model 100 itself, it was mostly the unobtainable, expensive cartridge it was chambered in that piqued my interest! My wife says I'm nuts, I prefer eccentric. To me the whole thing that makes it interesting is that any goober can't just stroll into Wally World and grab a box off the shelf.

I know this is an old thread but I just picked up a Model 100 in .284 a couple weeks ago. Swapped my Colt 1991A1 for it and two boxes of shells. Now I need to get a set of dies because I'm almost out of ammo already! Came with a Weaver base but I'm not sure if I want to scope it. I'm thinking since it's factory drilled and tapped for a peep I may go that route instead. If I do scope it I'm thinking something like a 1.5 - 3X with the widest field of view I can get. I'll mainly only use it in the Adirondacks where shots are close anyway.

Pretty sure there are more non-hunters/trappers than hunters/trappers. Why would we want to give them a greater voice? The one thing we've always had in our favor was that we could point to the Pittman-Robertson Act and say "See that, WE fund conservation efforts" and there is no way to argue against us because it is absolutely true. Do we really want to give up that bargaining chip?

I don't get it? What do flashlights have to do with the Penal Code? -
Optional.

Yeah they don't HAVE any, but if they DID they would ship it here.

Doc you keep saying that the NY Liberals won't drive you from your home. That's fine but no amount of letters are going to change the fact that NY is a Left leaning state and always will be as long as we are stuck with NYC. What are you going to do as they outlaw your guns a few at a time? Turn them in? Sell them? Hide them to only peek at under cover of darkness when they make you a criminal? None of those options appeal to me. Besides, for me it's not only about the guns it's also about taxes, regulations, Conservative values. Now they're talking about legalizing marijuana here. NYS is going downhill fast as far as I can see and I am going to go somewhere that I am a better fit while I am still young enough. I will continue to fight them as long as I am here but looking down the road I am going to get my boys settled someplace where I feel they will have a better future. If there are those who feel they have to stay for whatever reason I won't ever hold it against them or say they're cowards for doing it. Everyone has to make their own choice and live with it, whatever they choose. However, I still believe that the problems we have here ARE due to the lazy, ignorant and apathetic or the people who like the direction we are headed in. Does that mean that EVERYONE on our side who stays here is? No, but if those groups weren't in the majority then we obviously wouldn't be in this shape.

Wasn't Nixon a government employee who had information/recordings he never intended to make public?

Makes me miss David Paterson. -
I have to find it but I asked Midway and they said they are still shipping components into NY STATE.

My wife likes that Nutella stuff. I might use it to grease the axles on the hay wagon. I like peanut butter with homemade elderberry jelly or just by itself on Ritz crackers.

Remington Thunderbolt 22LR recall
covert replied to Culvercreek hunt club's topic in General Chit Chat
One other thing I found with .22 rimfire is the Aguila doesn't store well. I got a brick several years back from Cabela's and while it worked well at first, it took me a couple years to get through the brick. By the time I got to the last few boxes I threw them away because I was getting a lot of hangfires. The misfires I could handle but sometimes it would be 3-4 seconds after the hammer dropped that they would go off. When fresh they were fine. They were stored in a dry basement along with some Federals that were actually older but still worked fine. -

I'm just impressed that they've sold over 2 million dollars worth of something that's not even in production! -
It will be better quality than the trash Remlin is making now under the Marlin name too.
-
My gosh! What did they deliver it with, a KC-130?
-
They delivered today, $3.75/gal.

There are two sides to either group described in that scenario. We (the ones who don't like it but are currently stuck here) are obviously in the minority of either group or our State wouldn't be in this state.
