You can't possibly be serious with this? I am not even going into some of the replies I read on this post from the link you posted! Example, if you scroll down in the comments you will find this: Is this person referring to there would be casings on the field where the victims were shot? That's the only "field" there would be. I have yet to see a bullet casing travel 200+ yards. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Reynolds-Wrap-Aluminum-Foil-250-Sq-Ft/21129696 __________________________________________________ There is so much unknown about this whole thing it's ridiculous. As the news progresses ( the REAL NEWS ) it's mind numbing. One thing that seems to seeping out more and more is that Aldean wasn't 100% right in the head.

Very sorry to read this. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.

I wanted to laugh, but all I could do was shake my head in disbelief at how stoopid she sounded. On the bright side, I now know how to get deer to come to my sits, I need to get a deer crossing sign. Sent from my XT830C using Tapatalk

Opening Day Grouse Success, the hard way.

Rio Bismuth. Non lead, non steel, non toxic. Slightly expensive, but how many rounds would one waste using a single shot? -

I seriously want a single shot shotgun in my safe! I have my "dream guns", and then I have guns that are actually within' my goals. But, I also want to be able to use it for deer, so a 20GA single shot with a fixed Improved Cylinder barrel would do nicely. A bit much for grouse, but using non lead shot would make it more tolerable and not blow them into feathers yes? How ya gonna cook that one up if I may ask? -

Papist, you do realize that that news station is owned by ABC, yeah, the same ABC of the "main stream media" you dislike so much. It has no affiliation to the actual FOX News. I guess your word on the street is from the left. LOL. Funny how I haven't seen you post one word about thoughts or prayers to the victims or their family and friends. Not even some respect for the fine people both professional and civilian who put their lives on the line to help try and save people. I might have missed, it, but I doubt it. I really wanted to stay out of the bickering until tomorrow. But I just couldn't resist pointing out that Papist himself is ( again ) relying on the word of a lefty owned news network. -
what kinda chair do you use

That's a pretty cool idea. Thank you for posting this. -
To all the victims and thier family and friends, of the horrific event in Nevada. Also a ton of respect to the people who put thier safety on the line both professional and civilian. Heard about this after leaving the woods this morning. I felt sick to my stomach. Created this thread to avoid all the bickering on the other threads. It's a sad day in our country. Just looked this up growie. You are right! I guess you can buy them at Wallyworld : https://www.sierratradingpost.com/knight-and-hale-steady-ready-shooting-rest~p~1864f/reviews/ https://www.walmart.com/ip/Knight-Hale-Steady-Ready-Steady-Rest/6561082 LOL! Seriously? If the day comes when I can't steady my compound, I will stop hunting with a vert bow. I am not laughing at you growie, just the pure ridiculousness of the damn gadgets and contraptions people come up with. -
Congrats! Fine buck and way to go to stay on the tracking.

I forgot NOT to use the flip up backs on the little Ameristep chairs I bought last year! They are meant for skinny people! Hung my bow on a busted branch on the tree I was next too, set up the chair, sat down leaned back and went right over. Well almost over, all the little pine/fur sapling I had to my back as cover helped me not go all the way over, but close enough. I would have laughed at myself if I wasn't so ticked about making that racket in the dark. Now, I can laugh.

Not being able to sleep due to anticipation, I just went out to my truck, brought my day pack in to triple check it. Glad I did, forgot to put the cord to secure my camo burlap to trees/brush in there. It's back in the truck and now I am ready. Just wish I could get to sleep.

Not sure anyone is truly rock solid shooting a vert bow. No matter what, we are still shooting off-hand. No way to use hunting sticks or an arm rest on a tree stand. Seeing someone try to "switch hit" with a bow might make for an interesting YouTube video. -

Can't sleep here either. I can see some login in your thinking Doc. Thinking about that for a few minutes, then the same would be true for shooting a gun off hand? Using the stronger arm to steady the gun while using the weaker hand to squeeze the trigger. I am left eye dominant and right handed. I have tried many times over the years to shoot lefty with no good results on paper, so no way I would try on game. So, I shoot my normal hand, but have to close my left eye. -
Usually don't wear anything, if I do it's a black bandanna or my balaclava.

So, from what I have read, if I understand this correctly, those of us who hunt hilly or mountain terrain have to worry about thermals more then those who flat even ground, as the thermals will rise up with heating in the morning, and lower in the evening, and on flatter land it will more or less just disperse along the level ground without creeping up or down. On sunny days it's more important as the sun will heat the ground faster, and then once the sun gets behind the mtn. or high tree lines it will cool the ground a bit faster. On cloudy over cast days thermals will move, but not as much as sunny days. Due to the air temps will not raise and lower as on sunny days. Rainy or snowy days, thermals will barely be relevant if at all. Any of that sound accurate? Also wondering how thermals will affect heavy canopy areas like I hunt up north in.

Interesting data for sure. Just want to start learning more about how to study elements and deer behavior. Most of the land I hunt or have hunted was hilly, with ridges and saddles. Trying to re-think my way of thinking. Sent from my XT830C using Tapatalk
