So the g/f and I have been together for 7.5 years. We talked about marriage and both said we would marry each other. But never made anything official. Last night I got both of her parents blessing's. This morning I asked her to marry me. She said yes and was on the phone with her mother almost before I got the ring on her finger.

The only hunting related gifts I bought a few weeks ago and and tagged "from the dog". S et of Old Timer knives, a folder and a non folder, and two Ameristep folding chairs with storage underneath.

Looking back I can see it was odd and funny to put it the way I did. There are areas up north that deer are hard to come by, I get why those areas aren't allowed DMP's. There are other areas with more farmland that can generate a better herd. So allotting a few DMP's in those areas might help the non big buck hunters get some meat in the freezer without a bow or ML. Not everyone hunts with a bow or ML. Just my thoughts. No matter what DEC does to the seasons, it will never make every hunter happy. Some will always whine and complain no matter what. Sorry, but that's how it is.

Nifty idea and cool as ice looking. But, as wooly mentioned, it's wood, and birch for that matter. Many bushcrafters consider birch bark as one of the top ways to get a fire started with using a ferrell rod. It takes a spark pretty fast.

Most will be honest, just be warned, there are a few that if you do not buy the bow from that shop, used or not, they will charge you way to much just to set the bow up, and/or look it over. Been there done that!

The area I hunt in the lower ADK's 5J, I see does all the time. Not always in bow range, but always in rifle range. 5J isn't part of the vast ADK park, so yeah, 1 DMP per person for that area would be nice. DMP for the areas around Johnstown, G'Ville, and even Caroga would be nice as well. If you get up north of Moose River and hit areas like Ausable or Malone, there is a good amount of farm land, so there may be more diverse areas for food, and a higher deer population. All apologies if you don't agree.

So lets hear them! What is the fondest memory you have of the season? While we ate tag soup, my fondest memory of this season..................; Seeing the look on my g/f's face the first time she saw deer while hunting is etched into my brain!

Leave the NZ as it is! There are areas up there that just seeing a deer, any deer is an accomplishment. If any changes to the NZ, lets open up some more DMP WMU's!

If I want to watch a hunting show, I get my gear together, drive for 10 minutes and be hunting. If I want to go 30 minutes I have 5 public lands to hunt. Best hunting shows on the planet are the ones you live, not watch. No matter if you kill anything. Not having a ton of TV channels to distract me got me walking the woods more over the summer, and helped me get in a little better shape. Lost 20 lbs. You can have your TV, I will take my "fly-over town no one cares about" life.

I don't care who makes it from the AFC in reality. Always rooting for the Bills, then the Ravens, and then the Bengals. As long as it's not those cheating Pats I can live with it. NFC, Seattle all the way for this guy! If not, won't be the first Super Bowl I didn't watch because I couldn't stand either team. LOL.
