  1. Best of luck, enjoy the trip and give those birds the tumble of death.
  2. I took it, didn't see a reason for zip codes but it's all good. Great survey and to the point questions.
  3. Glad you had a great trip WNY Bowhunter. Looks like some nice birds taken.
  4. Yes. I have had issues with this shop before. I called them and talked to another salesperson who said the opposite of what I was told yesterday. I hung up and decided to take a ride go talk to a shop that knows WTH they are talking about. Same gun, same price, but was able to get far more information. I just want it because I want it. LOL So, again, anyone have any experience with the AR platform in a .22LR?
  5. 3 shops said $10. I will most likely not buy a new bow for this season. Just figured I would ask how to get rid of the old one. If I have to break it down for the trash that's OK by me. I paid $50 for it used a couple years back. The sight and rest I put on it cost more then the bow. LOL
  6. Sometimes you people have the same sense of humor as a rock. My turkey gun: TriStar Raptor 12, Rio bismuth 3" shells.
  7. I think the weight was about 5 lbs. I don't give a rats butt who thinks an AR style rifle is scary looking. A 12ga pump is just as scary, and in the right hands just as deadly. I don't want this thread to be about the 'big bad assault' rifle crap. Or about self defense. As a note, the one I looked at wasn't that Mossberg plastic replica. I am asking because I have always liked the way the AR's look. Just something about them. After talking to a salesman, he said the .22 can have the original grip to make them actually look like an AR. I need to check a few things, but I am thinking I really want this rifle.
  8. My g/f had the day off today. We went out in seek of a possible new couch. After 3 stores and my back already feeling like a spike was in my spine, I made a deal. One more furniture store then a gun store. So we stopped in a local shop, and they had an AR in .22LR. Do any of you actually use or trust an AR in .22LR?
  9. This isn't really political, but it sure was news around here I guess. http://www.timesunion.com/local/article/Bare-breasts-spur-protest-on-campus-7258516.php
  10. Apparently jumping on this awesome deal! This is too good to pass up! It will go great with those glasses you already bought.
  11. Needs a string and cable. Maybe new wheels. Limbs and limb bolts are great, riser is still good. Had it to more then a few shops. Some say one thing others say another. Just tired of having it take up space. If it goes to the curb taken down so be it. If anyone thinks they can fix it have at it. Just want it gone.
  12. Well then........ If anyone near me with a press and the ability to get old parts wants it, come get it. Free.
  13. I will be using the coveted Crosman M417 to nail them birds! Why deal with recoil from a roman candle from a 12ga when you can use an air gun? J/K people.
  14. Here's an odd one for y'all. How do I get rid of my busted bow? Break it down and put it in the trash? Give it to someone who can maybe repair it and get a little more use out of it? It's '98 PSE Thunderflite Express.
  15. Burgers on the grill, onion rings, and homemade pickles.
  16. Ya know what I don't get.... Some are ripping on gjs4 for doing this poll, which gave more insight on how hunters feel about DEC then the people who don't do a damn thing except whine! Gjs4 stood up and and asked for honest unput. You don't like it, so you are bashing. Yet a certain someone who has flooded this site with spam, and even gone so far as to make dove hunting political gets the ***** licked *** his ****. Like what was said, you think you can do better then step up and do so! If not then go change the Pamper and buy a new teether ring.
  17. Great buck! Mount came out great as well. Congrats.
  18. Most of the pop-up blinds will work. I would suggest going with one that will allow it to be used drawing a bow and shooting a gun so you can use it during the deer season as well as turkey. The one big thing I have said a few times, is get some UV Killer, set it up and spray it down, even on the inside.
  19. I went a little odd tonight. A couple of small lamb shoulder steaks, beef heart, and seeing the g/f won't eat either I made her some tomato and basil brat ( she's like me, she likes a little char, if we wanted steamed we wound boil it ). Left-over mac salad and chips.
  20. They look more like teeth from a tiger! Those are some nice spurs! Congrats to that woman getting a big bird first time out.
  21. I am not a fan of stainless on a rifle. Handguns? Sure. I am also not a fan of the camo on a synthetic stock for a shotgun or rifle. If you need to go synthetic go black with blued metal. It might not look as awesome as a nice wood stock with blued metal, or like the best turkey gun. I just love the look of a rifle or shotgun with a wood stock and bluing on the metal. Makes me think of the roots of hunting, before cell phones and the web. Just my opinion.
  22. I think the Spring season is just fine the way it is. If too many people keep making a fuss about all day for the whole season or all day for part of it, it will end up like the fall season. Two weeks NZ and two weeks SZ. Some thing are best left alone.
  23. Nice deal Rattler. It's nice to see hunters helping each other out.
  24. I was going to mow today. It's not in dire need, so I let it go. I will mow next weekend. I decided to crop the hair, make a good meal on the grill, and go shopping with the g/f to make sure she gets the right grilling meat today.
