  1. Just asking as I never really put any thought into camo for squirrel. Turkey and deer yeah. I used to just wear a pair of jeans that would fit over a light insulated layer, and my everyday coat and orange vest. Never stressed about it. I never used to really sit for small game, just walk through the woods. One of the big things I liked about hunting squirrel was it's isn't rocket science, you wake up, decide you are bored, grab the shotgun and ammo and just went out.
  2. I ddiiiiidddddd rrreeeaaaaddddd iiitttt slllooooowwwwwwwwlllllllyyyyyy. Point missed.
  3. This is what I have on my rifle in black, I paid $219 from a local shop last summer. Solid scope. http://www.amazon.com/Bushnell-Trophy-Multi-X-Reticle-Riflescope/dp/B0033CMKC8/ref=br_lf_m_uhvhkxfg8xuf7q9_1_1_ttl?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods
  4. I was just letting you know if you look there is a thread about this already. If you find it, yes, he did like it. LOL.
  5. You can look at these: http://www.scopemonster.com/search.php?Cat=91&Key=Silver The Leupold VX-1 should fit the bill.
  6. There's another thread on this around here somewhere.
  7. I would say maybe the same thing. Talking about this compared to the other issues mentioned is more fun then talking about speeding and other things..Don't ya think?
  8. I was being sarcastic too. You do it all the time you should recognize it by now. LOL And yes, they are in the deer family: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deer
  9. Hey Biz, re-read it! It was sarcasm. He didn't say whitetail deer, he said 'deer'. Which includes muleys, elk, moose, caribou, and a few others.
  10. But the adding of new game and the preservation of the seasons we already have should all be just as important. No? I admire people who fight for things and I have a lot of respect for you Mike for stepping up on the changes you want. I have stated your drive and doing petitions. I wish people would do the same for the other seasons they are passionate about and nut just pitch a fit. But, as hunters we have to fight for the big picture, not just one aspect. At least in my humble opinion. Whether you hunt deer, birds/turkey and other small game, water fowl, or predators, hunting as a whole needs to be preserved. I also agree 100% with this; Hard to hunt dove with a bow.
  11. Anyone who ever spent time hunting or fishing public land has broken a law. You probably left toilet paper in the woods. That's littering.
  12. I got it now, sorry for any confusion. Like I said I never bought a ML tag so I wasn't aware that it can be used for bow or ML.
  13. Sorry, I never hunted ML and though it was a separate tag from the bow tag. I though you could get one for each season. Bow and ML. OK, so take 1 tag out, add two more that's 6. Bow/ML tag, Reg. tag, 4 DMP's.
  14. EVOO, garlic, onion and serve with white rice and broccoli.
  15. If you think about it, put the NZ, SZ and the Suffolk & Westchester Co. seasons together and our deer season is a little over 3 months. If you had access or were able to hunt all areas.
  16. Perfectly said, but you left one out that not many would admit, "Deer snuck up on me while I was on my phone.". Good season = getting out there - Bonus is filling a tag. Bad season = not getting out there.
  17. I know people do this, I don't get why though. If you get your tags for all the seasons you get a ML tag for either sex, a Bow for either sex tag, a base Regular season buck tag, and what, we are allowed 2 (?) DMP's? That's 5 legal deer. Why use someone else's tags? Isn't 5 enough? NY may not be the best state for deer, but it certainly isn't the worst.
  18. Wow, that's long. I glanced over it as well. When I get time to read a book I will read the whole thing. But it seams they are aiming at certain counties and not the whole state. Probably a starting point. I went to the actual APHIS site and can't find this on there. Was looking for a brief overview of the topic. Perhaps the PDF link above was not supposed to be released yet? The newest I could locate was from 2014 and it was about LI, not the whole state. https://www.aphis.usda.gov/wildlife_damage/downloads/nepa/2014%20East%20End%20Deer%20Damage%20Management%20Report.pdf
  19. Your 7mm-08 will get the job done just fine. A scope that gathers a lot of light is a plus from what I understand. Do you guys sell the pelts or just after them to lower the population? just a question no more and no less.
  20. Wonder why they changed the actors that played Ryan and Kristin in season 2.
