  1. Not thinking you are. I just wanted to make clear that it's not factual yet. I am not a big hearsay believer. I agree with Papist here though, these people seem to have 9 lives.
  2. So, maybe we have more moose in this state then the DEC seems to know about. The links I posted are from this year. I think the DEC needs to stop creating all the reports based on Cornell University findings and put a$$3$ in the field and get some real stats.
  3. No reputable reports have been made on this. All the factual news says the strike is "BELIEVED" to have killed him. Nothing factual yet. I pay attention to this stuff, but it doesn't consume my every day thought process and I don't go looking for propaganda to spread. When things hit real news I pay more attention. This one made the g/f sit up and take notice. Our TV has been on CNN all the time. I got home from hunting yesterday, CNN. I got home from hunting today, CNN. After talking to her I will not be hunting next Saturday. I will be taking her out and showing her how to use my shotgun and rifle. Fine with me, been asking her to do that for a few months now.
  4. If there is no Walmart you can "crop" it in ants. LOL
  5. I watched it. It was interesting. I just hope the people drinking beer right now don't get all worked up watching it and try to .....NM..LOL
  6. It's not from this year, no point. It's "Live From The Woods 2015, not 2013 or w/e. Anyway................. Yesterday and today I only saw does. I have found a few new scrapes but I am just not seeing bucks in my spot in the NZ.
  7. Aw, let 'em go. This is entertaining. I find it hilarious that at 8:35 PM people are still "Live From The Woods" drinking beer and eating feet. LOL

    Camp

I will be at camp in my house. I will sleep a comfy night in my own bed. I will be up at 4AM on opening day SZ, I will eat breakfast, load my gear in my truck while it warms up, and then head north to the NZ. Driving time about 40 minutes.
  9. The toll now is from what they said while we were eating dinner was 129 dead and 350 injured. Considered an act of war. Really? Ya think? Maybe our Governor should be taking a close look at this BS. It might help him get his head out of his ass and realize a few things. There's a story on CNN about how America did an air strike and supposedly took out one of the leasers of ISIS. Can't find it right now, but it's there. The most disturbing part I watched was our own Pres taking a very lethargic approach. At least it seemed that way to me.
  10. Anyone watching CNN? Hear about the bombing in Paris? Death toll is at 112 right now, and they seem to be targeting a younger crowd as they pulled this crap at a metal concert. No BS extremist sites, this is going on right now.
  11. Does this have anything to do with the bombings in Paris?
  12. I don't remember reading or hearing about this on this site, or on the news. Anyone here posted about this one? If So I apologize for bringing it back up. http://www.timesunion.com/local/article/Moose-spotted-in-Troy-yard-6518828.php http://www.timesunion.com/local/article/Update-Troy-moose-had-to-be-euthanized-DEC-says-6525201.php Was even covered in Syracuse: http://www.syracuse.com/state/index.ssf/2015/09/upstate_ny_bull_moose_captured_after_9-hour_romp_is_put_to_death.html
  13. +1. Last year I used a spray. Being a smoker I came to the conclusion I was wasting money. Light up in the woods and all that "stuff" you did to cover your smell is gone. There are a ton of threads about this on here, and it's a debate that won't end. Do what ever you think helps, and makes you confident. No matter what, keep the wind in your favor when you can, have a few set ups to deal with the wind, and hunt.
  14. You guys sitting trees today are nuts! LOL I did my final SZ scouts on two state lands in 4A this morning, no trees crashing down but the widow makers were dropping pretty bad. I also wanted to hit an area in 4B, but came home. I was planning to hit the NZ for an evening deer hunt but seeing I didn't see one deer, squirrel, or even heard a bird in the morning SZ, I am sitting out the afternoon/evening in NZ.
  15. A good area of pines/spruce help sometimes, they block the wind a lot. Rain and snow as well.
  16. We all need to chip in and get Pygmy a case of rubber gloves for X-Mas ( and maybe a play date he can also make a sweater out of??? )...I know you have to build up callus for playing guitar but holy crap dude! LOL As for the actual story, pretty cool. I bet hunting like that will put the adrenaline into over-drive.
  17. I have had a few and hated the feeling in the "nether region". They have to sedate me for a MRI's, I freak out in the "Tunnel". I hope things go well with the results eddie. Good luck.
  18. OMG! Is this thread really happening? LOL
  19. The law is the law! If you choose to break then STFU about it! Don't advertise that this is what you do and you are proud of it.
  20. +1 What's up with people breaking the laws, and being proud of it this year? If that's how you do things then learn to STFU about it. What, are you daring people to turn you in?
  21. So a life line and a harness? I thought the lifeline was the harness? I have never climbed or sat in a stand without my harness. Even back when the harness was just a strap from the tree to you just under the arm-pit.
  22. I don't have one yet. But, man, I'm really starting to think about it. My big issue is a fear of heights, and using a climber gives me some anxiety. "What if it slips?" that sort of thing. Just keep thinking it might be good for mobility on state land.
