I use Sawyers for all my outer layers. I started using picaridin on exposed skin over the Summer. Works as good as deet and I can use it on my nylon tents with no ill effects.. Smells a bit better too.

Biden/Harris 2020!
DirtTime replied to Delete's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
To the OP, trust me when I say this, if you put this on your back , people here will oblige. Been there done that. As for Biden and his running mate. All I can do is this: This has all but secured another Trump victory. Which is a blessing and a curse at the same time. I know where my vote will be in November, and it sure won't be for anyone who wants to take away any part of the 2ND Amendment or allow "UN-Documented" people to have more rights then I do. -
Best of luck to you on your future endeavors.

Here's a link to the Indy Star on the incident. I doubt this was edited to add people carrying and pointing hand guns. https://www.indystar.com/videos/news/2020/08/07/key-moments-indy-10-blm-black-lives-matter-march-demanding-justice-dreasjon-reed-mchale-rose/3314006001/ If the cops would stop using rubber bullets and tear gas this wouldn't happen. This crap isn't happening everywhere, these morons are pulling this BS in major cities where they know the streets and have a way to run away and get lost in a crowd. Out here in the sticks I seriously doubt they would pull a gun on anyone. Country LEO's won't stand for it.

Just read an article that says anyone who gets their news from Instocrap or Facelame is able to run for president in the next election. God help this country!

Spoken just like another comic book hero on here, except he doesn't wear one of these . I honestly don't give two $%*#s if you're baiting deer, do what you gotta do. I hope people can see this is you just doing what you do, being a troll. You claim to be so intelligent so one would have to think you'd know that pic would cause controversy. Some people just crave attention whether it's good or bad. Anything to elicit a reaction.

Maybe it heard about the SENY GTG next week and decided it wanted a change of scenery from Whitehall. I just hope it was wearing a mask since from the way it sounds the creature wasn't following the social distancing orders. Sasquatch lives matter!

When you have to fart you have to fart. Curry has that affect.

Great state to spend time outdoors in. I've been snowboarding there a few times, hiked part of the AT and hiked Killington once in the off season. The last time I was out that way was about 8-9 years ago, we stayed at the Gray Bonnet Inn ( I think that place might be closed now ) and visited the local "touristy" places like Long Trail Brewery, and some glass blowing place I don't recall the name of. I would love to get to hunt VT at some point. Perhaps when/of all this craziness passes with CV19 I'll get some folks together and book a site at Gifford and do a DIY public land bow hunt.

USPS is no better these days, trust me. If the company you ordered it from or the delivering service considers it stolen, you are all the way up $hits creek without a paddle. Some companies might offer a refund if it was considered lost and never delivered, but once it's called delivered in the system, it's all on you. Even filing a police report does no good as you still cannot prove it wasn't delivered one the system says it was. That so called insurance we pay for when ordering items it about as useful as used toilet paper.

Mods can lock this up once everyone's done chatting. It was good to see Dave and talk about hunting, knives, this crazy world we live in now, and more hunting. After we parted I headed to Albany and snatched up the last Prodigy they had at that Wallyworld. If anyone likes that style of knife, they are great knives for the money and made right here in the USA. Limited run so get one while you can if you want one. This one has a little more meaning then the other one I have. A great guy went out of his way to help me out after a scumbag did his/her thing. That may not make sense to most, but generosity is always very much appreciated in my world.

Nice buck and great mount. Each time that mount is looked at those memories will come rushing right back.

I wonder if these things taste like the "chicken" in some Chinese restaurants.
-
If you're not feeling well don't make a fuss over this. No need to be moving around with something like that going on.

A second Gerber Prodigy Fine Edge, if I can find one in stock close enough to make a walk in and walk out with it purchase. I modified my original some, and want an original with no mods to beat up on too. They are a limited edition run only sold at Walmart, so I would like to have a second one just in case. If I can't locate one in driving distance, then I'll put the money towards a Becker BK2/22 most likely. Maybe the smaller BK14 and add some scales and use it for an EDC in the rotation.

This style of blind is referred to as either a pop-up or hub blind. It "pops" up by pulling the tabs on the sides and top. The main difference from those tent pole style blinds and this are the "hubs" the poles are locked into that lock into place when the blind is fully opened up. It stakes down and has tie outs to further secure it to the ground. The blind Biz uses is a hub blind, just like this one. A bit of a drive for @Biz-R-OWorld and really not worth it.

Don't worry about it, those golf clothes you wear won't help you blend in no matter what type of blind you use. Carry on you Feherty wanna-be. I don't remember the exact model. Something hunter or such. It's made by the same company that makes Ameristep, but was sold as a Sears exclusive under a different name. I remember it being a huge PITA to find details or reviews, like any other item that's made by a company that makes budget gear for sale at specific box stores. Originally they were $149 reg price when I bought them a few years ago, I got them on sale for like $115.

No worries bro. I just shot @grampy an offer he may like. I'm looking to get this gone and the new knife on the shelf before a hiking trip I have coming up in a few days. It's a backup to knife I use often.

Will the world change the way you hunt this season?
DirtTime replied to Robhuntandfish's topic in Deer Hunting
If the Spring turkey season was a prelude to how many more hunters will be out, then I will have to adjust to the public lands I hunt in a big way for deer season. To be honest, I may not even hunt the local areas for the gun season. With all these now found hunters out there, I'm actually nervous about being shot more then I ever was in the past. -
Thanks. Same thing the cops said, except even he used the right word at the end. My words were not so kind. I have this listed in a few places, but I posted it here at just about the lowest I can go.

Bummed, Tore off my outdrive yesterday.....
DirtTime replied to ApexerER's topic in General Chit Chat
Man that sucks. At the very least no one was hurt and the boat still floats. Hope the insurance company does you justice. -
Blind is 6x6' with center height of just shy of 5' I don't remember the exact number, like 4'10.---" . Unless you are Andre the Giant there's plenty of room to use a bow inside. Albany area.

Dose be spensive Lucy! Will be interesting to see what you think. Though way out of my wallets range of opening. I'll stick to Walmart hunting clothes and still enjoy a steak for dinner now and then.

Ordered a knife, someone helped themselves to it, looking to buy the knife again, so I'm selling one of my hunting blinds to put towards it. Ameristep Hub Blind. I never used this one it's just been collecting dust. Some critter chewed a small hole in it ( easy fix ), how, I have no idea as the carry bag doesn't have any holes. Stakes and tie outs are included. Looking to get just enough to cover the new knife. Pick up only! PM me if interested. $70- but I have a little room to negotiate.
