  1. We are doing deer steaks with mac n cheese.
  2. When its a buck i always try to let the little ones walk. I try to keep to 8 points or outside of its ears. When gun season starts i will take does. For does im just looking for a good sized body.
  3. i'll be taking out the 12ga mossberg pump with Remington expanders. Pretty excited for Saturday!
  4. I just use a decocking bolt. When im ready to get out of the stand i shoot it into the ground right in the path on plan on taking out of the woods. Pick it up on my way by. I've probably shot it a couple dozen times and its still in good shape. https://www.cabelas.com/product/Carbon-Express-reg-Crossbow-Release-Bolt/1608715.uts?slotId=1
  5. My dad ended up getting the buck from the pictures this morning. He's a very happy guy today!
  6. https://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/68802.html It needs to be un-cocked. Its under "General Crossbow Regulations" This is assuming that your question applies to transporting the crossbow.
  7. It is working fine. There are times where it doesn't take the clearest of pictures. Also, in the area i have it there is a lot of brush and the range is probably too much. I get a lot of pictures of nothing. i think it is because it is sensing things in the thick stuff that the camera will never pick up. It might be better suited for food plots and fields. other than that the battery life and reception have worked well.
  8. Haha that name works great! Hopefully i can get my chance to make up for it!
  9. Skipped hunting Sunday afternoon to watch the Bills get blown out. This guy was in front of the stand right after the final whistle blew.
  10. I thought they "removed" most of the deer from Stiglemeier. I've been seeing a big one on broadway behind the driving range and mini golf course.
  11. Ill try to confirm that prediction Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  12. I have had a few new bucks show up now that the horns have turned hard. All around a food plot i put in this year.
  13. Out of my 370 i shoot carbon express mayhems with nocturnals and shwacker broad heads. So far so good, very accurate. Cant wait to pull it out again this year.
  14. I switched back to a scope from a red dot last year. I did like the red dot for short shots or when i needed to get on the target quickly. I missed a deer at about 100yds and then had a really cold morning 2 years ago that the battery was dead when i went to turn it on.
  15. That's not far from where i hunt. I'll definitely be stopping in there.
  16. I used nocturnals this year. They worked well. They have a notch cut in the portion that you would insert into the bolt that compresses and closes up as you insert it. It makes sense that its there to make up for the variation in bolt diameter. They usually have some deals for them on amazon.
  17. I got in the stand at 2. My trusty weather app said 20 minutes of rain and then clear skies. Still raining though. I might need a canoe to get out of here... Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  18. Called in today and got out to the stand a little late. Have seen a half rack 4 and a couple of does. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  19. My father in law got his today too. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  20. Took off today to hunt. Had a great morning sit where I drew on 2 bucks (a 9 and a 7) but couldn't cash in. Back in the stand to hopefully seal the deal tonight. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  21. i believe it is a fisher. We see them on the cameras where i hunt in erie county. They seem to be showing up around the state in recent years.
  22. This is one of my favorite things to check every morning. Keep up the good work! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  23. That's a great looking young buck Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
