  1. Sounds like you need to have a chat with the owner of the farm and ask them if anyone else had permission to be hunting. If no one but you had permission , post on face book to this guy that after he left in such a hurry after being caught trespassing that you found his license and he can come pick it up...
  2. Well here in 8y we had a very slow season , I think the contributing factors were - the warm weather, virtually no rutting activity witnessed because of the standing corn which the farmer still has not cut yet. Pulled some s/d cards Saturday after morning gun hunt and we had one buck on camera with its nose to the ground ( 6 weeks these cards were left out ) I fully truly believe the doe were held up in the corn all season and still are. I have witnessed 3 different sits where the deer would come out of the corn mill around for some time and go right back in. So I believe our rutting activity happened in our corn fields.we lease 300 acres with 130 of it is wooded. Myself, wife and son all had shot opertunitys at smaller bucks so we could have filled our tags .not saying our archery season was a bust but it was a wiered season no doubt . So how was your archery season ? and are you going to get out for late archery ?
  3. It’s all about the city always has been always will be.
  4. Good luck to all and yes the forecast isn't calling for rain now in 8y till noon shoot straight, and as my dad always said remember there’s more room around them then there is on them .......
  5. Back in the day I killed a pile of deer with my 870 and copper solids, that combo was extremely accurate out to 100 yards, at times it just didn’t seem fair. Now I use my 44 mag super redhawk...
  6. Me -super redhawk 44 wife - gp100 357 son -marlin 30/30
  7. Who are you trying to fool, you’ll be catching some zzzz,s in the stand
  8. The two women shown could have concealed a Super Redhawk in there.
  9. No ... he’s giving the , yep I am safe wink.
  10. As with any other service that is meant to be a temporary help it’s being abused. I can vividly remember the 3 bucks that easily all were 130+ inch deer that I let go because of very poor shot opertunitys. Nobody is perfect and bad shots will happen , but to purposely take a marginal shot is just unethical.
  11. Well you know , there’s a old wives tall if you shoot a piebald you have bad luck there after. Guy I work with said his dad shot a piebald doe 5 years ago and hasn’t gotten a deer since....
  12. Well yes, she’s not really that big yet . My wife could have shot her Saturday night but couldn’t do it.
  13. Photo of our piebald we have running around
  14. Boy I don’t know, you may want to give him a few more years
  15. Well as of now the only thing I have running in 8y is my nose.........
  16. Holly cow that’s some wind , blowing you all over and upside down, good thing you wear a harness..
  17. Wife and son decided to stay home so I am in my wife’s favorite stand ,. So we will see what happens ....
  18. I have to say I am layered up pretty good and have been sitting since 1130 and it’s not bad yet. I am sitting in a stand on a big ol pine tree so that’s helping with the wind.
  19. OH yes the fun part is definitely the labor and to test myself to see if my woodsman ship skills that I think I have pays off and my son and wife see deer consistently over the season...
  20. we are on our third year on our lease, and every time we hunt I learn how the deer use the property. we have a total of 10 ladder stands and 4 produce deer sightings every time one of us sits in them. we moved 2 stands before this season and looks like one of the two is going to be a really good set .put up 3 new ones and one is going to be a great gun stand. so I have found 3 new spots just from observing the deer movement that will get stands before next year and I want to put up at least 5 more total. its fun to watch how the deer use different features compared to all the pro's out there that say deer will do this or that. i know allot of you guys hunt from hang on stands and will move as needed but we love our ladder stands. So how many changes are you going to make before next season..
  21. Well in 8y we are finally seeing some action, had a big body 4 point come in behind me at 60 yards as I was ranging trees for distance right after I climbed into my stand. Wife has had quit the show tonight, she’s watched a few bucks chase does for the last hour and I just had a small spike skid down the clif in front of me across the creak and drop down onto the dug road. It’s about time we are seeing deer on their feet it’s been a very slow archery season for us ...
  22. Same with us in 8y , wife my son and myself have seen one deer each and he was the same spike. We still have a couple hundred acres of corn still standing that isn’t helping ..
  23. Can’t wait to do nothing but bow hunt for 12 days ...
