  1. Since you will be using a release that gives u lots of options . Compounds have come a long way, every manufacturer has a budget bow and you really should shoot as many different bows as you can as all are different in draw cycle. try to keep a open mind and try some that you wouldn't think of shooting you would be surprised at how some of the short axle to axle bows shoot .
  2. will you be shooting a compound with a release or fingers? this makes a huge difference in the type of bow you pick..
  3. I think I will take my chance on some lead particles in my venison compared to what mass meat producers add to their beef
  4. my first under the table pay job was throwing hay $4 an hour.but my first real job (getting a paycheck taxes taken out etc) was my all time favorite job, I worked 3 summers at Watkins glen international race track. I ran food from the kitchen to the manufactures tents, I would do set up and tear down of the tents ,tables etc. pretty much did what ever they needed. I could work 40 + hours in 3-4 days and then I would have the rest of my week to do as I want. I met a ton of nascar drivers and even met tom cruise before he was nuts, and man o man some of the things i saw at the that job, makes me smile still....and my pay was what ever minimum wage was in the late 80's
  5. this is what I started with and its a very nice press, I shoot /hunt with my hand guns now so I load a bunch of 38/357, 380, and 44mag. I now use lee's turret press and I like it a lot also. it is a big cost savings especially with hard cast slugs the only expensive part is the initial set up but even that pays for itself in the long run. Lyman has a very nice reloading book they have many powder/bullet combinations for each caliber.
  6. yep ditto for me, have bought a few handguns from Louis guns.
  7. steuben sporting goods savona / corning fish and game club, leagues may be full but they have a open shoot on Monday nights you would have to join the club but they are in the penn York 3-D league with several other clubs great fun over the spring, summer / t and t out doors in south corning by byrne dairy above the bar.
  8. have been into archery for a very long time love everything about it shooting, tuning bows . last few years have gotten into hand guns heavily, (specifically revolvers) so have gotten into reloading and working up loads and doing my own trigger jobs and decided to handgun hunt only for last few years. I find smoking deals on older non running atv's and rebuild them, on my second atv for a complete tear down and rebuild #3 is in the wings. my job is a auto tech so I love anything technical. and of course my house we bought a old 1800's farm house (wife calls it our money pit) i have redone 4 rooms top to bottom , new windows ,new basement windows, painted house, replaced entire front porch, new furnace , roof etc. last few years I have worked heavily on our house so taking this year off from the house to work on a our new 300 acre lease we just picked up this year, mowing trails, hanging more stands and setting up game cameras .and my wife loves to hunt as much as I do so she will be out getting her hands just as dirty as mine on the lease..

    Ozonics

do a google search on how bad ozone is for you..
  10. now that's a nice first, you will eventually shoot bigger but I remember my first (a spike) like it was yesterday. congrats
  11. game cameras to catch them trespassing, and well you are going to have to bring the cops in, that's the only way these dirt bags that think they are entitled to your property will learn...
  12. 240 grain xtp over 21 grains of 2400 shot out of my 9.5 inch 44 mag super redhawk..
  13. I am surprised how many guys say the sst's shoot well from their Remington's. my 12 gauge 870 and my sons 20 gauge 870 did not like them my 12 gauge likes the copper solids or the aero tips my sons 20 likes the copper solid's a bit better than the aero tips. you really need to shoot different brands to see what your gun like's. better yet go buy a rifle the price for sabot slugs for shot guns has gotten out of control its sad when I can buy a box of 20 30-30's for $16 and a box of 5 copper solids are same price
  14. you can hang his first booties from them and pacifiers
  15. I have shot nothing but regular 3 blade spitfires for years and have never had any problems with them...
  16. oh I get what your saying but that's like being a doctor and saying oh I cant operate he's to fat. how can you call yourself a mechanic when you fear rust...
  17. that is not a real mechanic, really wont touch because of rust. I have worked on vehicles were I spent way more time heating bolts/nuts to get them off with out breaking than it took to change the part.
  18. wife and I have duel ownership we are in steuben county as soon as my two son's get permits all pistols will be added
  19. welcome check out (archery talk) nothing but archery
  20. complete tear down and rebuild of front porch - almost done doing ceiling and trim work now done with applying mortar to my stone basement walls and wife finished painting yesterday still need to do a new roof on shed and pour slab for my fuel oil tank for my garage I should have them done before archery starts...
  21. I have shot my biggest to date a 120 inch deer from my summit climber 5 yrs. ago and i royally messed up on a high 130 class buck 2 years ago from my climber he caught me at the tail end of drawing my bow. when you are standing right at the tree setting them up and climbing you swear you are making tons of noise when really your not that loud. I hunt from ladders also and when I know I will be using my climber I go in a full extra half hour early just for setting up vs. my ladder stands and the best thing you can do for early dark 30 set ups is a head lamp to wear so both hands are free I like the ones with red lights so your night vision comes back faster.
  22. I am a euro mount guy, the plaque is very nice, well done....
  23. i have a bsa on my 12guage and the wife has a truglo on her 30-30 they both have held up very well. now on my Blackhawk I ended up going to a ultra dot my 3rd red dot in that pistol. the long guns do not recoil like the revolvers.
  24. the truck will have to go though a complete drive cycle to make sure all is good so you may have to drive it longer
  25. on the gm vehicle's ANY code will throw the stabilitrack light it basically puts the vehicle in limp mode. so he changed the plug and coil but did he check power voltage/ground for said coil ? if that cylinder is not firing then you should get a rich reading on up stream o2 sensor or if the injector is bad you will get a lean reading. try spraying intake manifold with wd-40 around the #7 intake runner when running for bad gasket this will also cause a lean reading if leaking. if you have not done any maintenance on your engine its time for plugs all around and clean the throttle blade. another thing to check is your ground strap from motor to frame should be at pass front of engine pull on it and see if it falls apart looks like a wide flat woven wire that corrodes in our nice ny winters..
