Very cool find Al! Looking back to 1979, it was a Bear head very similar to this that I shot my first bow deer with.

Hoping and praying, the improvement continues.

Those three and a half's are punishing for sure! I'm sure your Win SXP is fine, just have to get that sweet spot. You being predominantly a scoped rifle guy. You are used to keeping a cheek weld a bit lower on the stock. That is the perfect form for rifle shooting. Shotguns, especially smoothbore with just a bead, sometimes requires a bit different mounting, than a scoped rifle, to find the sweet spot of that particular gun. I found that moving my cheek up just a bit, helped me see the barrel to the bead. Of course, a good quality low power scope will sort out the issue you have easily. And get you dead on. Best of luck out in the turkey woods buddy!

An absolute beauty! No doubt it will be a sweet long distance tack driver. Look forward to seeing your range results, my friend.

THIS!!! When I only have a front bead, I learned to "see" and "look down" the barrel of the shotgun. Seeing the barrel to the bead. Or in your case the ribbed rail. Try raising your cheek slightly higher on the stock, to see the rib to the bead. In the days when we used smooth barrels for deer, this was the most accurate way for me to aim. If I just shot seeing only the bead, I'd shoot low. Give that a try Brian. And let us know if it helps.

What a shame. To bad, as a little bit of thought could have prevented this tragedy. Sometimes, you don't get a second chance to learn a lesson. I got a bunch of second chances in my younger days, thankfully. I learned from each one of em. I was lucky. Some don't make it through the learning stage.

Congrats to your son! Hope you have a lifetime together hunting. Be sure to post a picture, when he proudly shows off his first turkey! Best of luck to you both.

You can believe that if you choose. But I don't.

Someone had to take the fall. BS if you ask me. Sox are just as guilty as the Stro's.

I agree with this. Brady and Gronk, are both way past their prime. And could be out at any time. Not sure why all the big hoopla. Sure, if they stay healthy, they will win a few games. But TB is in for a rude awakening, when they sell the farm, and don't get a SB. Or even more than one playoff win. Brady and Gronk will look much better at the HOF ceremony, than back on the gridiron.

Wish I had a fraction of the knowledge that Dinsdale has. A world class hunter. -
I have no doubt that you would be an awesome coach. Have you ever looked into it? Wish you were closer and could work with Zach! And you and Pygmy would be drafted first round in TGL ! (the grampy league) My Panthers are in total rebuild this year. Should be interesting to see where they go?

Right now the cost to refine the oil, is more than the cost of the oil itself. Don't see how it could go much lower. And it WILL go up again. So I'd say a definite investment opportunity, at this time.

Her smile says it all! Nice job! By her, and you Matt!

A happy birthday to your Mrs, from me and mine! Looks like a great place to check out, next time we come out that way! Prayers sent.

Slice thin, pan fry quickly with some butter and onions. Put on a hard roll for hot pork sammie's! Garnish with lettuce, tomatoes, or whatever you like.

The line is always blurred, when upstate is lumped in with NYC. Like trying to put a round peg in a square hole. Vastly different needs and wants. Though I sympathise with NYC and the tragedy of COVID-19 ravaging the population there. It is vastly different in numbers outside of there. Even in Albany. We need to start thinking of fighting the next battle. Getting people back to work. And a somewhat different way of life again.

Actions Speak Louder Than Words!!!!! Nope, Trump is not always politically correct. He is not the best speaker. He is not modest in the least. He can be difficult to work with. His ego is "HUGE". Look in your history books. Many of the founding fathers of this country, that signed the Declaration Of Independence, were talked about simarlily. I would rather someone talk to me straight up, and not poo-poo me, with gobblety-gook. He does that. When was the last time a rich man, cared so much for the working man? And realizes it is the working man/woman, that keeps Him in business, as well as America's economy! He has been fought, ridiculed, and impeached, by his many detractors, and mainstream media. But still stands strong for what he believes to be best for this country. Many weaker people, would have thrown in the towel by now. He has done more in one term, even with all the opposition against him, than any modern day President! He is my president!!! He is a patriot. I will follow him to hell if need be! Trump 2020

This is going to be a lifetime keepsake rod! Absolutely beautiful so far. If you don't mind me asking......how much would it cost to have you make a similar one, for a person outside the family?

So far....... Warm dry winter. Cold wet spring. Got grass high enough to cut. But would sink the mower trying to do it. Got more snow on the way tomorrow night, after the dusting last night.

Happy Birthday !!!

You Must Wear a Mask in public starting Friday
grampy replied to CharlieNY's topic in General Chit Chat
What's the best call for a frozen turkey Bill? I don't like being told what to do. But....I don't want to take the chance of infecting anyone else. So I'll wear the mask.
