Security was very tight and all around. There were a couple of local dealers there, but not as many as you'd think, for a show in this area. Actually, if you really looked, there were quite a few sweet deals to be had! But like you said, overall it was alot of overpriced crap. And of course, in Andy Azzhole's backyard, no AR's to speak of. Though a very nice Ruger Mini Mag in 223 caught my eye! Some beautiful older guns. A couple that I'm sure Dinsdale would love to bring on his next trip to Africa. But high dollars. The Ithica I pictured above I could have had for $600. But alas.......my wife had me leave the checkbook home........ All in all, it was nice to go and get out for the morning with my buddy. It was getting way too crowded for my comfort, when we headed out around noon.

Went to The Plaza this morning with my hunting partner for the gun show. Lots of cool stuff and some beautiful guns! Just two that had me wide eyed and bushy tailed. First is an Ithica chambered in 6mm. Next up is this TC in 223. What an awesome predator rifle! I showed alot of restraint walking out of there with just a few odds and ends! Any other capital region members go to this show?

After 45 hunting seasons, I still get all shaky...........after the shot.

This is the best!!! That kid is hooked! Love seeing it! My grandson went through it this year during youth weekend. I saw a mature eight point coming from left to right about seventy five yards out, near the end of our shooting lane. Told Zach, "buck coming, get ready"!! We are set up in a hub blind, he has his rifle rock solid on shooting sticks. He sees the buck. Right away he starts breathing like he just finished a marathon, and his legs are shaking. I said ok buddy, easy does it, get on him, and take your safety off.......... Take your safety off........ok he's stopped now.......take your safety off, shoot when your ready.......you on him? No, he keeps moving. He's not moving, you are! ...........................lol He was so mad at himself when the buck finally made it into the thick stuff. I told him I was so proud of him for not rushing or taking a bad shot. There will be many more opportunities. And there will be. I put my arm around his shoulders and told him how proud of him I was. 2019. This is his year!!!!

Disgraceful. I will never understand why some people do what they do.

Jdubs did contact me, and generously offered to pick me up. I have some stuff going on. But I'm a definite maybe! Will know by the end of this weekend. Sounds like a lot of fun!

chef, compared to the money the US has given away to countries that hate us by past administrations, it really is pocket change. You are a hard working man. 5.7 billion dollars is nothing more than pocket change to the US government. The Dem's have stated during the Obama administration, many times, that we need to tighten the border with Mexico. It's not about the money. It is the left's promise, after losing the election, to fight tooth and nail with ANYTHING Trump does! For the gall of beating their 'shoe in candidate' of Hillary Clinton. They were all soooo smug before the election. Mere days after their defeat, Schumer circled the wagons when he declared, "we will not agree to ANYTHING this president wants to do!!! Remember the rally cry, "Not My President"?? Never mind the people of this country. Never mind what is right or wrong for this country. It's close minded politics that have shut down this country!!! And a president that will not back down from his promises, of what HE thinks is right for the country. That also refuses to lay down for a bunch of cry baby left wing losers. JMO......

As much as I dislike the Patriots, and Brady. For a 41 year old QB to perform at that level, is truly amazing! Go ahead. Win another Super Bowl and ride off in to the sunset. Try and develop a slam dunk spot for my grandson's first deer!! Close last year, but not close enough. Will shoot the new bow as much as my shoulders allow. Want at least one more deer with a bow. Plant food plots on higher ground, as they got flooded last fall. Prepare some new set ups on secondary bedding areas. Hunt with someone I've never hunted with before. Make up the perfect rounds for our individual hunting rifles. Using all this reloading equipment, and info I've gathered over the last year. Try to be a better NYS Hunter Education Instructor. To make a difference with young and new hunters. Hopefully learning something, that they will carry with them. And pass along to another hunter. Try to keep my mind and body, in as good of shape as possible.
