  1. What would ever possess someone, to wake up one morning and get the bright idea, of going down to the police station to steal something? Goes to show, ya just can't fix stupid.
  2. Beauty of a bow! How would the draw cycle be at 50lbs to an older guy with bum shoulders??????
  3. Looks like two pic's of the same head.
  4. Not sure why they are sending me $10 score card coupons, as I have not purchased anything there in eleven months. Changing my address on that account, to NRA headquarters appeals to me though! Great idea!
  5. I've heard Zack's is pretty good too. Will have to stop in there as well. Thanks! What's not to like about checking out a new (to me) gun store?
  6. I really don't care what other people do. And won't bash anyone for spending their money, or coupons how they wish. But I have my own standards and stick to em. Needed some extra case holders, and a couple other handloading things, last week. I know the F&S store in Latham, probably had what I needed. And I had received a $10 coupon in the mail for Dicks/FS. I chose to throw the coupon in the trash, and went up Rt. 30 to Franks Gun Store in Gloversville instead. Glad I did! First time I was in there, and the prices and staff were agreeable! Would much rather spend my money in a place where my dollars won't be used against me. I'll be back to Franks.
  7. Time to put the baby on a solid food diet of wood chips!
  8. Nice shootin! I always wondered if shooting in tighty whities would make one more accurate? Guess so!
  9. Nice family. Guess this proves you don't shoot blanks! And all you spit is sawdust!
  10. .........5.......4....3...2..1............................. Happy New Year!
  11. Go to Spencers Gifts and get him a pair of those 'X-Ray Glasses'. Attach a note that says "now you can see what you've been missing"!
  12. A sign tacked to the tree that says....."Danger Stand Is Broken" !!!
  13. Or this count?Or this? Even though it's not his deer. Sleeping and snoring loudly, with the head bob!..........hehehe
  14. Finally got my first round done today! It's been a long road getting here. Took months of reading, and getting everything I needed together.270 140g. Silvertips (sent to me by Dinsdale. Thanks again Dan.) CCI #200 primer 52.0 gr. H4831 Case length 2.540 Over all length 3.252 to match up with the Federal Premium Nosler BT' Really took my time setting the bullet seating die. That was one of the things I was worried about getting right. Good to go now, and I'm familiar with how to adjust it. All the case prep work is fun, and I have my own steps down for that. Took notes on everything and followed my manuals all the way through. The first steps of any journey are usually the hardest to take. I took my fist steps on my handloading journey today. It will be easier now. And a long learning curve. But I'm up for it! Hope this journey Ieads me to a deer killed with a round I made up myself. Next step will be at the range to test various powder charges. Will keep detailed notes. Would really like to thank everyone who gave tips and advice up to this point. No doubt I'll have many more questions as I get deeper into handloading. But I finally got started!
  15. My first round handloaded! 52.0 gr. H4831 Case length 2.540 CCI #200 primer. Overall length 3.252 to match length of Federal Premium Nosler BT. Bullet is one of a bunch of 140g Silvertips. given to me by Dinsdale. "thanks again Dan" Took some time setting the bullet seating die. But good to go now, and that was one of the things I was worried about. All case prep was fun. Took notes and followed my manuals all the way through. The first steps are the hardest for any journey. I took those today. I'm really looking forward to see where this journey takes me. Experimenting with the rounds I make at the range, will be next. Will keep detailed notes. I hope my reloading journey has me walking up on a deer killed with one of my own rounds!
  16. Thanks Joe! Being a complete beginner to reloading, this approach of slow and steady to start, will work best for me. I have asked a couple guys I know who reload, to stop in and oversee my baby steps getting started. But neither seem to find time to actually do it. Today is the day, I will go down and make up my first few rounds! I have everything needed, and have been reading manuals and "how to's" for months. Thanks to all here who have given advice. I appreciate it more than you know! Will post back here, or in my journal, how it all goes. Of course actually test firing the rounds, will be the barometer of where I go next. With each round I'll gain experience.
  17. Been close to a year since I've given them a penny.
  18. A few years ago I weighed almost 100 pounds more than I do today! I had to do something about it, as it was really effecting the quality of my life. My main motivation to lose weight, was being here for my family. After a visit to my doctor, he told me, lose weight or I wouldn't be around for long. As I'm also type 2 diabetic. I decided to do something about it! I'm a pretty simple guy. So I simply figured if I ate Iess, I'd lose weight. And it worked for me. I pretty much cut out all sweets, and would always leave food on my plate. I ate all the foods I did before, but only about half the amount. After a while, my mind and body adjusted to this, and it became normal for me. Didn't all come off fast either, took about a year and a half to get to my goal of 200lbs. Down from just shy of 300lbs. I've kept it off for almost five years now! Went to the doc's last week, weighed 204 after all the holiday meals. Now if I could just lose a little around the middle, I'd be good to go for another hundred thousand miles!
  19. Happy Birthday Jay! Fill up this special day with happiness, and all the good stuff! Heres to you buddy!
  20. At work, been using the W10 for awhile now. I resisted at first, but really like it now. You're no dummy rob, you'll figure it out. And be happy with it when you do.
  21. I was 12 and just started working at Gilberts farm down the road. But Tony, the neighbor I was learning guitar from, was 18 and he went. I could have went with Tony and his buddies, but my mom wouldn't let me. He said afterwards, it was a real PITA! But that the music was cool.
