Came out after work and right by my truck is this nice looking fox! Snapped a couple of pics with my phone, as he went on his way. Probably wouldn't work out so well if I did a set on school grounds though.... Had a bear in our dumpster last spring too.

Hey Paula..................... you go girl!!! Turnabout is fair play.

Once you get older, making the shot, or even "drawing" the bow is a very real challenge. (as you witnessed) You don't need to worry about that now though. And your level of skill and determination is well evident. I wish I could go back to trad for my last bow kill. Complete the circle. But no way can I shoot enough to make that happen at this point. But following your exploits and successes with trad bows, puts a smile on my face! I'll settle for that!

Until proven otherwise, I'll celebrate this young hunters success.

The Helderberg Escarpment is very close to our property. So we see them fairly often too. In my opinion, one of the coolest birds that fly! Nice video and pic RedNeck!

Beautiful bow Brian!! Pretty sure there will be a deer here on the farm, that you can introduce that bow to, this coming season!!!

In an open gallery, moogs painting would be pricele$$ !

Got a healthy bear population here. But you could sit a whole season and see none. Or sit once and get a close encounter with one. Had a few on trail cam last September, including one very large boar. But never saw one during hunting hours. But someone we know, just a few miles away, saw a bear almost every time he was out. Location is the key. Best of luck to you Rob on your bear quest!

Met Peter and his wife, a few years ago at an outdoor show. He took the time to talk hunting with me and my grandson. Even gave my grandson a personally signed copy of his book. Great guy. Cynthia, cook up one of those recipe's, and have us all come over for dinner! I'll bring a nice bottle of red wine!!!

Still driving a 2006 Frontier LE four door club cab, with 177,000 miles on it. No major failures, just the usual maintenance and upkeep stuff. Just made the round trip on Saturday to moogs, four hours each way. No problems. Tows my pro style bassboat like nothing. Does work on the farm and in the fields too. Overall gas mileage averages about 18mpg. Been a good truck. We are looking for another vehicle now. May even get another Frontier!

Beautiful rifle, in a great deer hunting caliber. It will serve you well for a lifetime of hunting! Only thing is, the bolt is on the wrong side!!!........................

What's not to like about HuntingNY????? If at anytime you came here, and learned something, gave advice, got a chuckle, helped another hunter, was inspired by something or someone ......then it was time well spent.

My grandson Zach. This may have been the deer he got buck fever on during youth weekend. Sorry for the sideways pic.

When Do You Call It Too Cold To Hunt Small Game?
grampy replied to DirtTime's topic in General Hunting
Go out and don't worry about the temperature. Come out when ya get too cold. Even a short hunt is better than no hunt. -
Anyone have any experience getting a speeding ticket on a Snowmobile?
grampy replied to ApexerER's topic in General Chit Chat
I know it goes on your drivers license when ticketed on a boat. Years ago, I was on the Mohawk, fishing below lock 9 when all of a sudden this boat comes flying up next to me. The Sheriff Deputy says to me, he saw me fishing within the danger boey's below the lock. I told him I have NEVER, for my own, and whoever is with me's safety, fished inside of those boey's! And that I'm fully aware of the law preventing me from doing so. And besides, how could he tell exactly where I was from a half mile away, where he was observing me with binoculars? I was close to them, but not even close to being passed them. He wrote me the ticket anyways, and I just figured I'd send it in and pay it to avoid the hassle. BIG mistake! $175 fine!!!! And two points off my license! Also my insurance company contacted me with a slight rate increase!!! My bad for not going to court and disputing it. Live and learn...... -
Have also made some very good fishing jigs with the tails.
