  9. Otto, I find your enthusiasm and dedication so refreshing!!! You have come a long way my friend! I'd be proud to bow hunt with you! Wishing you all the best, for an exciting and successful bow hunting season this year!
  10. There does seem to be an "uptick"...(pun intended)... in the numbers of the crawly's this year. And I said the same thing last year too. Certain areas like the Pine Bush here. And the Mendon area, where I hunted with moog last year have higher concentrations of ticks. But there doesn't seem to be too many places left that do not have them. So be more aware, when you 'KNOW' you are in a "buggy" area. I spend a lot of time outdoors, as most of you do as well. That being said, I am persistent in checking myself and taking a shower at the end of the day, after any outdoors activity. That helps, along with increasing Sawyers bottom line, with multiple bottles on hand. I've had Lyme before, and it's no joke! So as the numbers of ticks increase, so does my persistence! But there is absolutely no foolproof way to protect yourself and pets from this scourge. We can only hope to lessen the chance of infection, through persistence. Check Yourself Daily!!! Get Them Off Before They Dig In!!! Or Out Before 24 Hours!!! See Your Doctor If Any Symptoms Develop!!!
  11. My Doc told me that each time we take the doxy, at the same dosage, the effectiveness decreases. That's why he waits for a positive confirmation, before prescribing.

  16. Sounds like an exciting hunt Jay. Wish the outcome would have been different for ya. But.....perhaps you just ruffled some feathers, and he is still in the area! How sweet would it be to get redemption!!
  17. Got a great game on tap tonight, with the Red Sox at the Yankees! Some bad blood between these two powerhouses, during their last matchup in Boston. Should be a great series, to see who leads the AL east, when it's over! And look for Biz on the big screen, as he will be there, with beer in hand!!! I think he will be in the Judge's Chamber, in RF. Cheering on his hero!!!................hehehe Let's Go Yankees!!!
  18. Fishing for black bass in NY is legal now. It's artificial lures only - catch and release. From December 1st, to the Friday preceding the 3rd Saturday in June. They changed the regs regarding this a few years ago.
  19. Don't see it Biz. We should make a new one for 18, as the other was started in 17. Good game on tap for tonight!! Sox and Yanks!!
  20. I'm with ya on this! For me, hearing the gobbles and turkey sounds is what makes turkey hunting fun! I am NOT a great, or even good turkey hunter. So, so, at best, as deer hunting is my main passion. Hunting turkey's is fun to me when there is interaction between hunter, and the birds. I understand this is not always the case when hunting turkeys. The last few years, I may hear a sporadic gobble from the roost, and then dead silence, when they hit ground. Just takes the FUN out of it for me, even if I do kill one coming in silent. We have about 500 acres of huntable property available to us. The birds are not pressured at all. Food plots, hay fields, and excellent turkey habitat abound. The numbers of turkeys on this property, and area, have decreased substantially over the last 15 to 20 years. Mostly due to predators, winter kill, and harsh nesting conditions in the spring?? Perhaps if there were more turkeys, they would be more vocal??? These same woods and fields used to light up, with spring gobble's and hen sounds! No more though. I could easily go somewhere else and kill a turkey. But to me the FUN, is doing it on my own land, and hearing them answer my calls. Not sounding sour grapes here. Just my current feelings of turkey hunting our property.
  21. Hoping your family member continues to improve.
