Got the 420 look! Must be some primo stuff! Growing up in the 70s, I've seen that look a time or two.

Turkeys for sure. I have no problem killing a legal deer. But turkeys frustrate me to no end!!! Seems like I have to put in a LOT of work to kill a turkey.

Turkeys 1 grampy 0........ Gobbles off the roost, silence when on the ground. Not many birds at all on our property this year. May go look elsewhere. But a great day in the woods, playing hooky from work!

Had one gobbling from the roost like crazy. Since he hit the ground, not a peep. No shots nearby. Guess we play hard to get now.

First gobble of the morning 4:15 right behind the house! Rolling the garbage cans down the driveway! Maybe I should just stay home, and rattle em in with my garbage can call? Good luck to all heading out! Looking forward to the pic's later.

I'm playing hooky from work tomorrow! You may as well too! Go for it! Sitting in the woods is always better than work!!! Right now it's snowing like crazy at our hunting grounds! Buddy says the ground is covered and it's still coming down!! May need snow camo for the morning!!!

Looks like weather turns nice tomorrow in 4-H. That's good. Cause, these older bones of mine, won't agree to sit in the cold rain anymore!

I've always had a place for a campfire at home.When the weather is nice, we have a few get togethers, by the fire. Some nights, I'll just sit out there by myself, with a beer and look at the stars.

Was looking forward to reading more youth hunt stories too Paula. Seeing and hearing about the young hunters, always makes me smile! Their youthful excitement is so refreshing! With my grandson playing on three baseball teams, we just weren't able to get out this year for youth season. That and another medical procedure for me a couple of weeks ago. But we will be getting together for regular season hunts, whenever his schedule allows, in May. We're both looking forward to it! -

Good post. And another friendly reminder, to treat your clothes and hunting camo with Sawyers Permethrin. And to check yourself thoroughly after every woods outing. Seems like our harsh winter, had little impact on the tick population.

Just a reminder to have everyone treat their hunting clothes with Sawyers! Those nasty crawly's will be out in full force! Rob, not sure where your headed, I know you occasionally hunt Black Creek area. Saw a bunch of turkeys cross the road there, last night after work. Couple of nice Tom's too. It can get crowded there though. Anyways, good luck!

After seeing this, I may have to stop by wally's and grab one too. Like you say, the old back, will thank me for it later on! Will come in handy this fall too! Much more comfy than a milk crate! I aint getting any younger! hehehe.
