I have a pair of Nikon bino's, great quality at a good price, and I'm very happy with them. Good to know if I ever have a problem, they stand behind their product!

Congratulations to young Miss Haley! And to a very proud Dad too! Great hunt, great team! Way to go!

What a beautiful story. Got a big ol' lump in my throat while reading it. No doubt in my mind, that there were some smiling faces from above. To go along with the smiling ones down here. You my friend, are the definition of the true hunter spirit. It really is all about making and keeping memories alive. My hat is off to the young hunters, past and present. And also to you sir. Congratulations!

I always thought metal detecting would be fun! I've watched tons of utube video's on this. Now that you are retired, sounds like a great idea! Go for it Larry!

Jeez....No one's credibility, or self worth, should be based on a set of deer antlers. Too bad, but this kind of crap, does crop up every now and then.

I'm on a couple guitar/music, tabs and chords forums. Anytime I can't figure something out I UTube, looking at lots of reloading video's these days! Will check out the albanycraigslist for music, hunting and fishing bargains. This is the only hunting related site I visit.

grampy replied to left field's topic in Bow Hunting
Best of luck to ya!!! It's all in the "hunting", that makes it fun! Come back to let us know how ya do! -
Thanks for the belly laugh!!! Came at a good time!

Thank You! My success rate on a REALLY good buck, that I would have another mount done, hasn't been too good the last few years. That's on me. I need to do my part, before you can do yours!...........lol Hoping we can meet up in the fall!

I'm on one other forum, a guitar/music site. Been here since Oct. of 14. Was a lurker awhile, before joining in. I came on board because I saw that there were some very good hunters and outdoors people here. They were willing to share their experience and knowledge, and have a little fun too! Thought perhaps, I could share what little I know, as well as learn a bunch, from like minded people. And I have. I've met a bunch of guy's from here, face to face. Shook their hand, shared a smile and a story. Every one of them were stand up people! Hunted and shared woods time with a few more. Made some memories that will outlast me! Good times! And I look forward to our next get togethers. Got a few that are on my "must meet" list too. You know who ya are. Also, I've bumped heads with a couple of butt heads here every now and then. Fair trade, for all the good I've taken away from here though. As long as you can let some comments roll off, and not take everything personal, your enjoyment on 'ANY' forum will be enhanced. Keep in mind, we come to a forum, to hear a different point of view. To enlighten ourselves, perhaps learn a thing or two, and a good belly laugh now and then! But we are all different! We won't always agree! It saddens me when we lose long time members, because of personal attacks. There really is no need to do this! If ya disagree with someone, or the content of a post, go ahead and post YOUR opinion. But because others may disagree with what YOU post, remember that's all part of a forum! Ya don't need to shoot back with personal jabs. There are much more intelligent ways to get your point across!!!! Stooping to someone else's level, is not always the best representation of YOURSELF! This site is strong. With a great membership! Let's all work together, to keep it that way. Just my opinion folks.............

Savage. But why not a Ruger 10-22?

For me.......the highlight of this thread, so far, has been wooly's photo's!!!!

Thanks Al. I guess the main reason for getting into reloading for me, is the satisfaction of making my own rounds up. I am not a great target shooter. Just a hunter that likes to shoot. I also like to tinker. So a perfect hobby for me. This is surely not a money saving venture. As I could have bought a bunch, of brand name ammo, with what I have invested already. I do look forward to customizing rounds for our rifles, for accuracy and terminal performance though! 1st up will be the 270win, with H4831 using some bullets gifted to me from Dinsdale. Will post results in my journal, as I go!

You're all a bunch of wishy-washy, mamby-pamby, so and so's, if you don't agree with ME!!!.................grin. Now.....back to our regularly scheduled, way too many pages, of mumbo-jumbo.

A buck that old is almost unheard of most anywhere in NY. Great buck!!! And as always a beautiful mount! If I'm ever lucky enough, to shoot another truly nice buck, I would love for you to do the mount! I've seen one of your mounts up close, (moogs) and you did a fantastic job!

In the spirit of keeping things upbeat here, I'll do it! Long as ya don't mind a pot bellied, bald spotted, stinky, gimpy, grampy for a mentor?.....................grin Zac, doesn't seem to mind, so you should be ok too, ""young man"".
-
Congratulations to your beautiful, little scholar!!! Being that smart, will take her a long way in life! From one Grandpa to another, BIG thumbs up!!!
-
I still believe, that face to face, over a beer, most all here would get along just fine. But then again................. maybe not.
-
SSSU !!! If ya have to...... Every situation is not the same. What's works for me, may not for someone else. I respect that. No one knows better, what's best for my property, than I do! When a property gets over run with predators, you do what's best for all concerned. Other animals, included. I've never killed them at a den sight. Behind the barn, yes. Flame on........

Or a carnivorous woodchuck!!! (hence the deer leg)
