We too have done well with the Buck Forage Oats. Works almost too good, as the deer will chomp it almost as fast as it grows.

Grandson's and my, first shots tonight. Both from 30. Mine on left. His on right. Yeah he's out shooting me. He also ran a lap around the yard before taking the shot. Trying to simulate being excited, like he will be when he draws on that first deer.

With you and ATbuckhunter there, it will be an awesome event! Wish I was closer. Have fun and hope you have a huge turnout!

Guess I shouldn't be surprised that your first glass etching would come out beautiful!!! Man, the art you create with your endless talent is tuly remarkable. Seems like anything you put your paws on, comes out so cool. If by chance I'm lucky enough to kill a deer this year, or my grandson kills his first. I'll take a bunch of pictures, send them to you, and have you etch one for us. I'll be honored to have such a keepsake. Whatever $ you charge will be more than worth it! It would be like geting two trophies! Your artwork, and mine or my grandsons deer. I've had so many people comment on the antler cross my friend. Wear it every day. It's still putting out and receiving the good vibes, more than ever.

There were a couple guys just starting out that summer that were able to hit the 20 yard target with their trad bows, but not very accurate. But my buddy and I had been shooting since the summer before and were quite accurate out to 30-40 yards with our Bear Kodiak's. As well as the majority of the recurve shooters, as some had been shooting longer than we had. My buddy got me started using his bow, in the back yard nights after work. And when I got my own, it was friendly competition between us. Like "lemme see ya make this shot" kind of stuff. The second year of shooting we got the crazy idea of taking the course and actually trying to kill a deer! We both did.

When I took the bow course in the early 80's we shot our bows. Most of the bows being used were recurve at that time. Out of ten or so guy's taking the course, only 2 or 3 were shooting the super fast, cool looking, Bear Whitetail Hunter. A couple years later I went over to the dark side and got one myself.

If I were hiking there today, I'd be carrying more than a walking stick! I have no doubt, there is more than one infected critter in that area. That woman was lucky to make it out alive. Her injuries were quite severe. You would think DEC would at the very least, issue a statement, to use caution in the area.

It's those long practice shots, that make a 30 yarder at a deer seem like a chip shot! Nice shooting!

Usually where there is smoke, there is fire. This is not the kids first brush with trouble. I have no idea if he abused his girlfriend or not. But like sodfather said, some of these young athletes and music stars too, have the god complex. Too bad. No matter how talented they may be, it does not give them the right to act like a jerk. No matter how much money and praise is heaped on them. JMO

I went with my grandson last year, and they shot their bows as part of the course. All were encouraged while shooting and it was a fun part of the day! Did not matter how good or bad you shot, great shooting tips were given. This was at the Woodlawn Sportsmans Club in Rotterdam. Great group of instructors there.

Sounds like an awesome event! Anyone even somewhat close, would be crazy not to attend! No doubt it will be a fun and educational time!

Heck, if I let my imagination run away, I'd never take a step in the woods! In over 50 years of roaming the woods alone, I've had a few real encounters, that were a bit hair raising. But nothing like the encounters that I imagined!!!! Those were down right SCARY!.....................................grin.

Call me old school, but I feel exactly the same. I don't trust the mechanical heads either. I'm well aware that many deer are killed with them every year. But I never doubt that my fixed blades are doing their job. Those Slick Tricks will serve you well Biz. I've used them with no problem at all. And the NAP Thunderheads as well. All 100 gr. Just keep holding your form when shooting longer distances. Hold that bow arm rock steady until the arrow hits the target. You seem to be doing really well with your new set up! Keep up the good practice and you will be fine!

What did they come off of? They look similar to what is on my Yamaha Grizz.

Nice mount! I see them pretty often on one of our hunting properties. And they seem to be almost common now, in these parts. Definitely one of the coolest critters in the woods.

Or a "lightning strike"! The woman was the second attack in that same area. The day before, a man and his dog was attacked, and managed to fend off the coyote.
