  1. E-mail. But if you are selling a Toro mower, for instance, state to write Toro mower in the e-mail. It will cut down on the spam a bit. I try to do that if I'm buying too. I also don't want my phone number out there. Or phone going off at all hours with stupid stuff. CR can be a great place to buy and sell, but ya do have to be careful.
  2. The info pretty much jells with what we were seeing in the woods, in our area of 4-H, last fall. Even though there is no way the report can be 100% correct. It still gives a general idea from town to town, on up to WMU's and statewide, harvest reports. Thanks for posting Larry.
  3. Congratulations! What a great bird and story! You absolutely earned this one using all your skills. An epic hunt to remember!
  4. Most any hunter would be proud to carry that beauty into the deer woods!
  5. Wherever you're seeing tracks would be a good start.
  6. What an all star line up! And I sure wish I could have been there. Pictures were great, looks like everyone had a really good time. And everyone made it home safely , no worse for wear and tare. Nice job TF for pulling it all together. Be great to see this as an annual event! I'm down for the next one! You WNY guys know how to party! For all you capital region guy's, I'm thinking about putting something together in this area for a get together. Of course any one who wants to make the trip will be welcome! July time frame should have me feeling good enough for just about anything. Indoors, outdoors, bows, rifles, picnic, venison roast, anything is on the table. Anyplace can be suggested. I have close to 500 acres here, with a shale pit range. But it gets hot over there in July! Let me know what you think, and I'll start another thread.
  7. Beautiful bird! Well done! Congratulations!
  8. And to add my two cents. Hope you all have a safe night. I know it will be memorable, enjoyable, and great fun!!! Wish I could be there with you! Hopefully next time! I'll toast you all from here at nine sharp!
  9. That's a real pretty rifle! Bet she shoots as good as she looks too! What kind of glass are you going to put on?
  10. Last weekend the weather was so crappy. I was bored, so I went downstairs, saw the case, took her out, and cleaned her, again. Even though I haven't shot since early April, and already gave her a good cleaning afterwards, I just had to put my hands on this rifle! Doc says a few more weeks, at least, before trying to shoot again. I got a lot of catching up to do!!!
  11. Whoops wrong quote from above......this is the one . Told ya I could use a beer or three.........
  12. If you see an old fat grey guy, with a crazy look in his eyes, with a beat up guitar case, and looks like he could use a beer or three. Pick me up! I'll be hanging out at the Guilderland rest stop, telling truckers wild tales of daring do, of my deer woods adventures!
  13. Always so cool to see the youngsters shooting and shooting well! Good luck to you both in the tournament!
  14. Looks like he thinks his participation was not needed.
  15. As long as it's safe to do, if a critter is struggling like that, shoot, shovel, shudap. Over the last few years, I've had two rabid coons and a fox. All were walking in circles and foaming at the mouth along with growling. Didn't want them to infect any more critters, so I buried them deep. Also disinfect the the shovel with bleach. I'd pour some bleach on the area with the body fluids in your yard, just to be safe. Also, could it have been hit by a car and made it to where you found him?
  16. Stunningly beautiful work!!! And an awesome shop set up! Might want to buy some coasters, for when Larry comes to visit. ....'grin'.......
  17. Thanks, so very much everyone. Her and my Uncle are finally back together now. He died many years ago in a logging accident, and was an awesome woodsman.
  18. Heading up to Lake Placid tomorrow for my Aunts services on Thursday and burial in Malone, the same day. A delightful lady, who I'm going to miss very much. She lived a long and happy life at 87 in the Adirondacks. Always loved visiting there since I was a boy. I'll miss our conversations and her Iaughter. RIP Aunt Audrey.
  19. Talked to my brother tonight, he lives close to the Catskill Creek. Says it's still a little high but definitely fishable right now.
  20. Congratulations on your first rifle purchase! You got a very solid set up there! Should have no problems at all. Post back with your impressions and results after the range time!
  21. HaHaHa..... I'm sure there are quite a few, who would differ with that. Anyways, for those of us that can't make it. Take lots of pic's! Maybe, phade can even "hide" a couple trail cams for some "candid" shots!!!
