As long as it's safe to do, if a critter is struggling like that, shoot, shovel, shudap. Over the last few years, I've had two rabid coons and a fox. All were walking in circles and foaming at the mouth along with growling. Didn't want them to infect any more critters, so I buried them deep. Also disinfect the the shovel with bleach. I'd pour some bleach on the area with the body fluids in your yard, just to be safe. Also, could it have been hit by a car and made it to where you found him?

Stunningly beautiful work!!! And an awesome shop set up! Might want to buy some coasters, for when Larry comes to visit. ....'grin'....... -
Thanks, so very much everyone. Her and my Uncle are finally back together now. He died many years ago in a logging accident, and was an awesome woodsman.

Heading up to Lake Placid tomorrow for my Aunts services on Thursday and burial in Malone, the same day. A delightful lady, who I'm going to miss very much. She lived a long and happy life at 87 in the Adirondacks. Always loved visiting there since I was a boy. I'll miss our conversations and her Iaughter. RIP Aunt Audrey.

Talked to my brother tonight, he lives close to the Catskill Creek. Says it's still a little high but definitely fishable right now.

Congratulations on your first rifle purchase! You got a very solid set up there! Should have no problems at all. Post back with your impressions and results after the range time!

HaHaHa..... I'm sure there are quite a few, who would differ with that. Anyways, for those of us that can't make it. Take lots of pic's! Maybe, phade can even "hide" a couple trail cams for some "candid" shots!!!

Absolutely! If I were looking to upgrade, this would be perfect. And I'd be all over this one! Not knowing for sure how the shoulder surgery is going to pan out, I'll stick with my old Matthews, for one more year. Good luck with the sale. Got a feeling this deal won't be around much longer, before someone pulls the trigger. Do you have this on AT also?
-
Will be so cool if it fits perfectly, and you are able to finish what your grandfather started. Talk about making some memories!
-
Wow! This deal just got sweeter!

Showed this to my wife, and got a big awwwwwe too. Then she says "how does he get so close, when they all run away from you"? Why does she always have to be so darn right! Huff...... 'smile'

Gotta say, this one has an all star line up!

Big thumbs up Buckmaster7600 !!! What a great story and bird!

Welcome, glad to have you with us! Just pull up a seat anytime, and join right in! Look forward to hearing more from you!

I'll never get tired of telling you how spectacular your pic's are! As always, great job my friend!

Welcome! Glad you are joining us in the forum, and the hunting woods! A 270 will kill anything roaming the woods here in NYS. Plenty enough to get it done, with mild recoil, and ammo can be found anywhere, at a cost effective price. And almost all gun manufacturers, make entry level rifles that shoot pretty good! A couple of deer would absolutely help to feed four growing kids too! What part of the state do you live in? We have some fine hunters, from all over the state here. And I know, someone would be willing to help get you started, including myself. Come back here often, to ask any questions you may have!

They're plentiful here. On one property I hunt, I see them almost every time I bow hunt there. Really cool critters! Like how they slink through the woods. Saw the first one about 15 years ago, in this area.

One heck of a hunt!!!! Congratulations! Beautiful bird! Great job.

No shows booked for this summer, but I am playing a campfire and party tour! West Canada is almost two hours away from here, but doable!

Hey it's only seven questions. So I'll give ya my opinions, for what they're worth. One eighth, or quarter ounce Panther Martin, white color, silver blade. Worms with just enough split shot to keep em bouncing on the bottom, no more. Deep Woods Off, and a head net. One hour if you are moving around and have confidence in what you are using. Fifteen minutes if you are stationary and not getting bit. Creeks and streams vary in size depending on water flow, but are very similar. For me, mornings hands down. For spoons, gold or silver for stream fishing. I will also at times put on a small white plastic trailer, to give the spoon more action.

Congratulations to... Fishinkidd's girlfriend. mowin's cousin. Bill Schmidt. Nice job all!

Dang, I missed this! Was out of action on the 4th. Way to go my friend! Consecutive days at same spot doesn't happen very often! Nice birds! And as always, beautiful pic's. Sis have any luck yet?
-
It is hard to shoot something that isn't there. But good things happen to good people, so good luck my friend!!! I'm not near the turkey hunter, some folks on here are. But I've had good luck using decoys. And the only turkey I've killed with a bow, was out of a deer stand while hunting deer, a number of years ago.

I see two other deer not pinned! Anyone else see them too? Great spot Eddie! How about if you use one of those double trunk trees, to break up your outline more? Or a really brushed in ground blind? Or perhaps a better spot before or after they get to here, would hide you better?
-
Doc says no shooting for me, at least for the remainder of turkey season. But still planning on getting my grandson out to hopefully get his first bird. Baseball season is in full swing too, so we have to pick our days.
