  1. Welcome! Glad you decided to stop by. Sounds like you have a lot of outdoor experience to share. Just pull up a seat and join right in any time! Lots of us older hunters here too.
  2. Your way or no way. I get it now. The heck with everyone else, if they don't think exactly like you.
  3. They were just that analogy's. Ridiculous or not. My point is that things change, weather we want them to or not. Is it always for the good, maybe not always. But like someone in this thread pointed out, should we go back to clubbing them to death, as that's how it was done "in the old days"? Of course not. The hunting seasons and the implements used in them, have been, and continue to evolve for the last one hundred years. And we will continue to nic-pic at each other over the slightest changes. I'm as conservative and traditional as they come. But I'm not naive enough to force my views on others, because that's the way I do it. So it's adapt to the changes in hunting seasons and implements or quit hunting. I'm not ready to do that yet! I've killed deer with everything from a recurve to high powered rifle. And I can assure you, the "trophies" I've gotten, were hard earned! If it's legal I will hunt with it, in any season that it is legal do do so! And continue to adapt and kill deer. I'll let all the complainers do what they do best, while I just go hunting!
  4. So, was our way of life stolen when the automobile replaced the horse and buggy? Or when airplanes made it possible to cross the oceans in a matter of hours? Or when medical advances cured polio? Would it have been better if we had just stayed where we were? Of course not. Things change and advance. We either change with the times or get left behind.
  5. If he had just held his original position, the dummy would have never gotten a scratch. But noooo, let's get closer! Bad move.
  6. Nice come back from 16 down in the second half! Go Orange!
  7. Sounds like a good deal. Exactly what kind of work are you looking to have done? Carpentry? Field work? A little bit of everything? The owners heart is definitely in the right place, trying to help vets and kids. Hope someone that lives closer will be able to help you guys out. Best of luck!
  8. Nice job! Looks awesome! Almost done with mine too.
  9. As bad as it was, it could have been much worse. Had the shrapnel been a foot or two higher! Would not have been able to pass on more dumb, to the gene pool.
  10. Happy Easter to you all! I'll be snitching a few jelly beans from my grandson's baskets today. They are so much better than the sugar free ones, the Mrs. got for me.
  11. May the fondest memories of love, laughter and good times. See you and his family through these hard times. Prayers and condolences sent from my family to yours Eddie.
  12. Baby wipes make it quick and easy for cleaning mounts. My taxidermy guy gave me that tip years ago.
  13. Looks like you nailed the pose. I gotta say, after seeing your work over the winter, that you posted here. You really have a talent for doing it right. Will you be considering, taking any work for pay this season?
  14. You have a bunch of really nice mounts! Getting them all together, in a bigger space, really makes sense. If you can, please take a bunch of pic's. to show progress. Your ideas for the new addition, sound great!

    Activism

Some very good comments made here already. So just my two cents....... I'm very pasionate about and try to stay active and promote the things I love and enjoy. But there is a point where over activism would cut into the time spent actually doing the things I love and enjoy.
  16. My opinion is, they should have made full inclusion for crossbow two years ago.
  17. Hope she heals up soon. The vets way of healing, in this instance, is better than her way of healing. Best of luck for your beautiful girl to be a good girl. And "leave it alone"!
  18. Happy Birthday! Hope your day is filled with family, friends and all the good stuff!
  19. Welcome and don't be a stranger! We would all like for you to share your experiences and hunting adventures. Just pull up a seat and join in anytime! Wow! You admit to knowing those guy's? ...........just kidding!
  20. Prayers sent to your sister and Hummer, and to you and the whole family. May the holy spirit watch over and comfort you all. Deepest sympathy sent as well.
  21. Who had the most fun? Dad or daughter? Real nice shooting young lady!
  22. So nice out today. So I'm grilling up some NY strip steaks along with grilled onions and twice baked garlic potatoes. And a side of home grown green beans from last year. For desert, my wife made the grandsons favorite, chocolate chip cookies!
