My dream rifle has always been a fully customized M-14. Not sure if I can see that dream come true in NY state though.

Happy new gun day! Nice one for sure! Got pic's?

I'veuote name="wildcat junkie" post="460385" timestamp="1458605169"] Probably the same guy that claims that the "7mm ought 8" is a magnum because ought 8 is bigger than ought 6 & his brother in law shot a der @ 3000yds W/one. Using FMJ for any game other than maybe a charging Cape Buffalo or elephant is asinine.. I've met that guy too! Lol.......

I think it's an excellent idea! Win, win situation for all involved. Also I think it would and could work in the Capitol District. PM me if there is anything I can do to help you.

That's great Biz! Best of luck to you and Dad on your hunting adventures there!

Nice mount! Try turning your phone or device sideways when you take the pic? I can't tell you why, but it seems to work for me? I'm perhaps the least computer savy person on this forum, so keep that in mind too!

X-2. This is a great bow with draw length adjustment and poundage adjustable from 35 to 60 pounds. It will grow with him and can be used to hunt deer when he's ready.

I see fishers quite often on our hunting properties. Very cool animals! Haven't gotten one on a cam yet. I'll have to work on that!

My Good Deed For The Day..............................
grampy replied to Lawdwaz's topic in General Chit Chat
No telling how long it would have been there if you didn't pluck it out Lawdwaz. Way to go! I too, pack out trash whenever I can. Never a TV though! -
I find it amazing, how some of you guy's build your rifles and loads. Cool stuff!

Sounds sweet! Very nice!

Anyone else scouting new ground during the off season?
grampy replied to genesee_mohican's topic in Deer Hunting
I'm always asking myself, where are the deer coming from, where are they going to, and why? Then putting boots on the ground to find the answers. This applies to private or public property that I hunt. And it can change somewhat from year to year. -
Ya know, that could be a record trouser trout. I wonder if our Birthday Boy had it measured?

Top O' the mornin to you all!

Happy Birthday! Hope your day is filled with all the good stuff! Family, friends and good food. Nothin but the best for you!

Those close encounters are always so cool! I consider it an honor each time.

I'm new to fly fishing too. Last year for a birthday present, my wife bought me a 5wt.Orvis combo. Been wanting to learn for a long time, but just like Zem, I don't know anyone who fly fishes. I have practiced many hours in the back yard and a couple of unsuccessful trips to local water. So I too will benifit from the posts above. A book that came with my combo has been a huge help getting started, so it's worth picking up. It can't possibly replace having an experienced fly fishermen show you the ropes. But it has a bunch of good stuff for beginners.

It's one of the best times of the year to get started on the next deer season. You can still see last years rubs and scrapes. No heat and skeeters while moving stands or building blinds near the newly dicovered hot spots. The woods look the same now as they will this November, for clearing shooting lanes. One thing is certain, this time of year. There is never a shortage of things to do!

Pretty girl! And smart too. Hope she feels better soon.

Good to see that the common sense approach is finally being applied to the crossbow. By needing bow certification to use one, as needing muzzleloader certification made no sense at all. Killing by broadhead is completely different than killing with a bullet. I'm very happy to see this bill introduced! But would like to see ALL areas that have bow hunting be included as well. Absolutely will be notifying my representatives, asking for their support.

Great idea and very cool! Mmmm, got me thinking now.

Instructions...... I call em Destructions. Sometimes you may as well try to read the other language. Like the "use bolt A in side D counter rotate one and a half turns to side C" see image in picture #3. Read that again hon?????

I grew up with a lake within a short bike ride. Got hunting property by a lake. Tow the bass boat to many different lakes. Kissed my wife for the very first time by a lake. Some of my ashes will be scattered in a lake. Guess you could say, lakes have been and always will be, a part of who I am.

He'll be hunting right beside you this year. With that smile on his face that you know so well. My condolences to you and his family.
