Absolutely right about that! This version of the yankee's does not deserve to go to a playoff game! The Jay's have that spark, and deserve to be there more. Get rid of Boone, and start to rebuild with more guys that truely 'WANT' to play the game!

I was working in a commercial shop as the chief pressman, when the building supervisor walked up and said to shut down the machine, and come to his office. I was thinking, what is this all about?? After getting there he said have a seat, look at this. He had a small TV on, and the 2nd plane had just hit the tower. We both just sat watching, not saying a word. Knowing that America, as we had known her, would never be the same again. After awhile, he said I'm going to tell everyone to go home to their families. I got home and my phone was ringing. It was my mom, telling me her mom, my grandmother, had just passed away. Natural causes, not by anything to do with what was going on. It was one of the sadest days of my life. I sat there, as a tear rolled down my cheek. Drove over to mom's to comfort her.

What a great event!!! If I can make it???? I may come up to help out if needed???

This crossbow issue is "AGAIN" getting pretty redundant. Running over the same old ground, over and over, really serves no purpose to anyone. Just more silly phrases and words from both sides. And I'm just as guilty as anyone else. If full inclusion passes in the future, it is what it is. Won't really make much difference to most participating in this, and all the many other crossbow threads we've had here. So if you want to use a crossbow during whatever time it's legal to do so, go ahead, no problem. It's not hurting anyone. And if you wouldn't be caught dead with a crossbow, that's fine too! You also won't be hurting anyone. Buy a new bow and be happy! Hunt the way YOU want!!! Shoot what you like, like what you shoot. Guess I'll spend more time getting ready to hunt. After all, aren't we are all, actually just hunters?

A free gun would have been nice. But I was very happy to support a great cause.

Great looking exhibit!! I saw the State Fair attendance was way down this year.
-
Welcome! Any deer is a trophy. Especially from inside the Dacks Blue Line.
-
The last weekend in October. Trick or Treat monsters will be roaming the shadows.
-
No......that would only put your panties in a bunch even more than trying to hunt "your" season with my crossbow.
-
So will my 270. Whatever is easiest right?
-
I admit to not being the sharpest tool in the shed.

Yes, we get one to split between my partner and I. He uses more meat than I do, so I always defer to him. He has more mouths to feed. Times being what they are, this year I'm being asked by a couple more folks that have little, to give more meat if I have any extra to give. These are proud people. I always drop off meat saying my freezer is full, and could they help me out by taking some. My freezer will go empty before theirs does.

I started bowhunting with a traditional bow. Killed my first bow buck with that. Then I went the "easy" route, with a compound. Same exact argument that some like yourself are using against crossbows, is it not?
-
It does look so easy! Until YOU do it!!! I will admit to uttering a few choice words the first few times I tried to take down the Doghouse Blind. Once you get down 'where' to bend and twist, it is pretty easy though.
-
It's that one percent of traditional archers, who are the REAL bowhunters. Everyone else takes the "easy" route.

Yes, there is plenty of room in them, and the chair itself is oversized. I'm not a small person. I easily have close to a foot of space outside of the arms of the chair. And about two feet in front. Enough space to use a mono or bi pod to rest your firearm. And even stretch out your legs a bit. Super comfortable too. And so easy to transport in its own carry bag. Just pull it out of the bag, open chair, set on the ground with the blind behind the chair, then just reach back and pull the blind over you while seated. Small profile too. Not as noticeable as a hub blind. Especially from a distance. I usually just put it in front of a bush, or in a blow down.
-
Look up the "Chair Blind". I have a couple of em. Great for gun hunting in crappy weather. Or even nice weather. I have three Primo's trigger sticks. Mono, bi, and tri. That covers just about all shooting situations. I really like them alot.

Thanks my friend. But any little sense I do have, was only gained by doing things, multiple times the wrong way. Hitting me over the head, or by just doing it the hard way, for far too long!

No one can argue with the years of testimonials, or hundreds of thousands of pictures about how some deer scents work. I tried them for years myself! And just found no benefit at all to MY hunting. But apparently results vary greatly. And as I said, if it works for someone else, great!! Keep using it!! I'll just stick to my own sense.

We certainly have a mutual respect Belo. And we can agree to disagree on crossbow issues. That's what being here is all about. But........ marketing for "ANYTHING" is just hype to sell something. Your Next Rifle, and Rifle Like Accuracy, are just marketing words, meant simply to sell a product. Now I don't actually know if the marketing word 'Rifle', has been used to sell a compound bow? But since today's compounds are so much more advanced, than the first one I bought in the early 80s, it very well could be used to sell compounds? But surely, the fastest compound, or crossbow, will not actually shoot like a rifle. I still, and always will consider myself a bowhunter. That has been my love, and passion for many years. I will admit that a bow killed deer is the most rewarding to ME. I have killed a couple with the "crossbow" too, and yes it was fun and exciting at 20 yards. The same distance as I would shoot one with my bow. But my bow will always be #1. I may carry a crossbow a couple times a season? Nice to have a choice. One day in the not so distant future, a crossbow will be all I will be able to carry, during whatever part of the season NYS DEC says it's legal to do so. My standing point in the discussion of bows and crossbow's, is that I have used and killed deer with BOTH. Not many "CROSSGUNNERS" can say that. And my crossbow does not come close to any firearm I have. I still say, like them or not, CROSSBOW'S, will be more a part of the future hunting in NYS. And calling them CROSSGUNS just sounds so silly to me, and makes those that use that reference sound silly too. Call it what you like. It still is what it is, a CROSSBOW. The definition, only being decided by whatever side of the issue you are on.
-
The only scents that really worked for me, was applying common "sense" and paying strict attention to wind direction. Not saying that deer scents don't work. Many claim they do! Just that I never had them work for me. And I tried alot.
-
Where is the word CROSSGUN? I don't see it? Yes, I see "Rifle like accuracy" but that could also be used to market a new compound bow, or even a slingshot or BB gun for that matter.
-
Urine based scents never really worked for me??? So I haven't used them in years. I have started peeing in mock and natural scrapes, to better results, than the stuff I bought off the shelf. Had good results using EverCalm for a cover scent. Though I haven't used that in the last year or so either. What scent did you order? And by all means if it works for you, keep using it!!! I know many hunters that swear it works wonders for them! I just never had any concrete evidence that it worked for me.
-
That's a dandy buck!!! Hope you two meet up later in the season!!

+ 1 That is by far the silliest phrase, of all who never fired a CROSSBOW.
