  1. My hunting partner bought a metal box from Kolpin, that bolts to the rear rack. I just use bungie straps front or rear, depending on what else I'm lugging with me.
  2. I had a 06 Honda Rancher 400 for a few years. Nice machine. Will pull a tow behind mower with no problems. Used it for other light work around the farm too.
  3. Stanton does seem to hit well in playoff games. Though I'm not a huge fan of his. At least the Yanks are at this time, getting something for all the $$$ they are paying him. Man..... Those Cardinals are on fire!!! How long will they keep it going????? Sox lose to those pesky O's! Yankee fans know that feeling too.
  4. Both!! No white Christmas though.....
  5. Is there a camo pattern printed on it? If so, that raised the price three times the cost of plain burlap. In the past I have used just plain brown burlap, and let it sag and twist. Worked ok.
  6. First shot at 30 yards, with hunting set up. Guess I'm good to go.
  7. So cool!!! Is it hard to learn to fly one of those contraptions???
  8. Mrs grampy and I are heading up into Vermont on Saturday. Hope to see some nice color up there? My last official duty, before she becomes a hunting widow for two and a half months.......
  9. Just post a picture on this thread. FYI........you are my pick this week!!! So hoping you get it done!!! This is all just strictly for fun!!! No pressure at all.
  10. Two separate properties, two separate jobs to do. The best option would be two separate machines to do each job well. A new zero turn for home. A used compact tractor for the lease. There are always good deals out there for used stuff in good shape. You will be so much happier with the results. Trust me!!
  11. Great way to kick off the tracking season for the Dream Team!!!
  12. I love the Yankee's. But.......this team has given me fits all year. I won't be sad to see some of this team go elsewhere in the off season.

    Time

This is me. And after very many years of being in my stand way before light, I've found this to be a much better way. "Most" times, I'll just slip along VERY slow, just as it's getting light enough to see. Almost like still hunting, but slightly faster. I've found I bump far less deer, and have even gotten shot opportunities I would not have had, had I already been sitting in my stand. Of course, there are certain days like the opening of firearm season, I want to be in, and settled long before first light.
  14. Yanks chased him before he signed with the Angels. He didn't want to play in NY.
  15. You would be right! BAD call there.........jeez......
  16. Happy Birthday my old friend!!! Hope today is filled up to the brim, with the people, and things you love most!
  17. I'm sure we got some scrapes in the places where they always show up first. Just didn't get to that part of the property. Probably saw at least 10 rubs scattered around though. All in areas we probably won't hunt until late Oct early Nov.
  18. Nothing better than Red Sox vs Yankee's baseball in October!
  19. Your Forum Name.......grampy.......... Week 1 (Sept. 27 - Oct. 3) Hunter: Belo
  20. Dandy Buck!! Hope to see you in a picture with him!
  21. Getting some color up at the farm. Can you see the deer?
  22. Was out today and found a few rubs. We weren't looking for them. Both of these are within 20 yards of rut setups we were checking. A bit early to find them like this we thought? Anyone else finding any rubs?
  23. Welcome here! The first thing you'll need to hunt NY is a Hunter Education certificate. This can be done online, or at an approved course. Unless you are a resident in NY, you'll need a non resident tag.
  24. I didn't get all of us being reset to rookie either. I see we get different color badges fairly quickly? But the post count is still there. And so are all the members and topics. So I'm good. Just took a day or two to get used to it.
