I guarantee the bulk of these sold are being used in NY for hunting. Same with all the various deer baiting products sold. People aren't buying these to use out of state. Nobody believes it.

Stay away from the ones in 8f. Not only are there almost no takes per year from these, but there are killer clowns in the woods and a lot of hunters' cars are being vandalized and/or set aflame, plus a lot of guys are going missing each year.

Bought this at the tail end of 2015. Guessing I've used around 60 times since. New for this year in an attempt to reduce the crazy amount of stuff I bring into the woods and reduce fiddling around with a pack, I have added these $10 Fieldline fanny packs to the frame. This is the same concept as the official summit climber bags, but these are cheaper and, I think, less likely to wiggly around and be generally annoying. These are currently in-store at my local Dicks store. I liked the back because the loops are readily usable for ziptying to the frame. For now I've left them as functional fanny packs to confirm everything works in the woods, and just duct taped the straps snug out of the way. Attached with three zip ties and importantly this setup will not impede the ability of the seat straps to get all the way front. Should the pack be excessively loose when weighted down with a coffee thermos or the bungee snaps fail, I will probably use a very thin piece of plywood as a backer and rivet the pack to that. I'm positive that would work great, but is not likely to be necessary. And frankly, some stout duct tape would certainly work well for this in place of zip ties. Here are the molle straps I got on ebay a few years back. A must-have. Eschewing the molle frame and attaching directly to the stand bottom, with paracord loops to keep it centered, it has worked flawlessly. If you're wondering what the black paracord is on the front center the purpose of that is that this stand, when combined with the Sherpa game cart, can be used with a pulley system to haul the entire rig up steep inclines. One area I hunt, to get the deer out, involves a terrifically step hill, and after dragging deer up it twice I vowed that the next time would be with a mechanical advantage. Here is the kidney setup. It works well, but I honestly never need it because i'm never walking far enough to bother. Here it is ready to go (except the very top part of back rest is hanging low out of the picture here--normally I use its integrated bungee to attach it to top of frame.

I hunt from a stand, so I lean against the tree or the rail guard. This provides a very solid platform for xbow. If I were on ground or still hunting I think i'd get a stick with xbow. I had a bunch of deer at the very end of ML season last year at 100 yards and a clear shot with a nicely sighted ML but I just couldn't quite bring myself to pull the trigger. Off hand shooting is hard without practice (and few do). I almost bought a stick that night. And xbow is even worse because of the poor balance of most of them.

2016 I got a buck within an hour of opening on bow, on public land. I also have a lot of vacation time saved up so I can hit it pretty hard in the fall.

Yeah. its wiggly backrest is a bit of a bother to pack but it really is damn comfortable. Sure beats the ladder stand I sometimes use. I can really sink into the summit

This is a very fair description. With a deer in it, though, its sound is irrelevant now and it is a nice tight package as a game cart. The axle is likely to bounce within its housing even with plastic washers, though, so I am not sure it would be easy to deaden this thing's sound for getting into the woods.

Great. This is exactly what I thought they'd do looking at them in pictures: too big, not snugged down enough. Will keep this in mind when I secure mine, and let you know how it goes.

Did you buy it? I only used mine in that capacity once. it's too loud with some clicking of washers and what not to really use like this, although I suppose if you wanted to it could be fixed with more plastic washers or something. I have used the Sherpa to take a couple of deer out and it works very well. I've spent the last couple seasons with its axle taped to my stand's lower portion and the wheels stacked in it as well so that I can just carry the entire thing into the woods attached to the treestand. Works fine but it is heavy. As for Molle straps they are a must have on the Summits. Stock straps are garbage. I don't have the molle frame. I just attached the molle straps directly to the lower part of my summit viper and centered them from slipping around with some paracode attached to either side. I have the kidney thing to put wait on the hips but frankly never bother doing it up.

What specific problem do they cause? I know that these bags are going to make my profile wider for walking through things, but I don't believe they are going to negatively impact the ability to get the bottom piece into the top, nor inhibit moving the seat around or anything like that. I thought about one of the bags that hangs on the front rail, but those will end up getting constantly hit by my knees.

Yes, sir, I will. Purpose is to get away from the bother of a pack (weight and also just dealing with it). There are packs made specifically for my climber, but they are unavailable or look excessively sized. I've found what I think will be perfect packs (fieldline from dicks) at $10/piece and I think they'll hook up nicely with zip ties. Will be enough to hold some coffee, binoculars, etc.

Attaching small $10 packs to my climber this year instead of hauling in a backpack every time. Still have to sawyer my clothes. Still have to decide on which broadhead to use/shoot bow some more.

If weather sucks I won't hunt. It's just not enjoyable, and the season is long. This is also why I plan work time off for hunting at last minute. Working around weather is not even as hard as working around my kid-taxing schedule in the evenings.

Climber most trips, next to kid in a ladder. If they don't come along I'll just use the ladder.

With driving kids around and weather problems and all this crap I will be lucky to get out on the evening of the 1st. Otherwise, I'm waiting till the weekend. One kid wants to come with me on all the hunting trips and her school schedule is such that I can kick out of work early on evenings and pick her up, so we will do that a few times for sure.

I'm generally smart but I am dumb as a bag of hair with certain things. For example anybody spelling out a word more than about three letters and i've got the intellect of a dog. I have to read it back moving my lips as if I'm in kindergarten.

I can proudly say I've never done it, either, but I can also say that I was pretty damn close. Course this may have been around the time I was eating Olestra chips.

Damn. I still remember it like it was yesterday. 2002 my wife and I went for a walk and it was all she could do to keep me from running into the woods on the way back and using a leaf as toilet paper. It just wouldn't go away. I remember as a kid if I ignored it, I could revisit the situation a couple hours later. That doesn't seem possible anymore.
