  1. don't tell my wife Dessert is not a food group took me 30 years to convince her it was
  2. Great looking blind you have there! as I have said in the past I built mine on a old wagon under carriage put a heater in it so I can take my grand kids hunting with me after spending a couple years hunting out of it I wonder what took so long to make it LOL long story short I guess as we age its just nice to hunt more comfortably good luck with it many years of use and nice bucks taking from it
  3. hum I can say I have had a great two days chasing coyotes last night had them 75 yards away no shot and today after cutting multiple sets of tracks going both ways I managed to miss one at about 200 yards I have however gotten better with the calls and the understanding of coyotes them sneaky little buggers LOL I can see them and my three toes feathered friends have a lot in common they both tend to find new ways on how to ruin my day!!
  4. great pics I'm chomping at the bit waiting for may 1st my last youth grew up and the grand kids are coming along slowly there 8 now a couple more years and all I'll have to do is point them and wait for supper LOL
  5. welcome aboard I live and hunt in Orange county

  8. I'm probably not going to make the dinner I left it open though I'll have to see how the misses is feeling. I am hunting Orange county the Warwick section between the farms, swamps and mountains I figured I could at least stumble across one! I have people saying there seeing packs of them of course that's before I get there LOL. this is my first year trying I have the turbo dogg 2 caller that I was using for crows and extra time so I thought why not. I'll keep you posted
  9. ya if your talking about the Sullivan county one I figured WTH never been in one so I would try and today we got a foot of snow. so I think I should of saved my money spent on scents for snow shoes to get to the coyotes but like I said Its going to be my first time in the contest so we will see how it goes I'll keep you posted
  10. Hi I was looking for some information on coyote hunting like best times to go out and do they come to a call during the daylight are sunny days better I'm just starting out I hear them at night by the packs they seem to be everywhere. The places I have to hunt have never been hunted for coyotes anyway that's all that seems to be left there, they have killed off the bunnies and I have seen them take adult turkey in a open fields. Most of the area is open fields with swamp and hedge rows sectioning off the fields some hardwoods but plenty of thick fence rows to set up in. any help will be greatly appreciated!!!
  11. I couldn't agree more with you and I have even posted that subject once. why give damage and nuisance permits to the land leases that only want to harvest mature bucks and wont shoot does or shoot very few of them. We as Farmers and yes that's what I do! are the ones stuck feeding them, I can say for a fact I will never go into a lease agreement with any hunting club that only wants to shoot certain deer that fit their desire as a trophy. you want to get onto farms go talk to the farmers tell them you are there to harvest the animals damaging their crops not the ones that look good on your trophy wall. them knuckle heads in Albany don't help us either with their every hunter deserves a trophy so we will make it a law of 3 points on one side or more. Wake up not everyone wins in every game some people never shoot a trophy solely because they enjoy the taste more then the dust collector
  12. I'm pretty sure thats the same one I use it has a big steel round end on it so it dont really go into the ground
  13. yes you can use slugs in NY however not buckshot
  14. i have eating plenty of wood cocks (never tried dog droppings) but them birds tasted pretty good to me
  15. they band bulls when their young under 6-8 months old after that they have a big pair of pliers that crush the veins therefor stopping all his desire to be doing what comes natural, its a quick move they put them on squeeze and they roll up and crush the desires out of them i would assume this would be the option used hence there would be no open cuts to get infected. their is also vets out there that castrate by cutting (and removing the marbles) they spray a anti septic on the animal and let it go recover either one should have to potential to make so interesting rack configurations in the fetcher look at the bright side all those possibility's have to be better the setting in a cold dr office just waiting your turn for a snip stitch and ice pack
  16. seem every dang turtle wants to cross the road i'm walking on so far I have moved 7 snappers one silver dollar size and one I thought I might have to get a pry bar 5 painted 2 boxer 1 yellow spotted 1 bog turtle all this in the last month
  17. clover should be mowed just before it come into blossom otherwise you will stress the plant and may kill it off mow it high about 6 inches and you should be ok though I have 85 acres of clover just waiting to be mowed and bailed if the rain ever stops !!!
  18. hey wait a minute they had all that and here i am still making my hunting heads out of stone I really need to catch up LOL
  19. seems you might need a bigger trap LMAO
  20. I have seen a LOT!! of hens still hanging with the Gobbler not sure why. Usually I see them with young in tow I have yet to see a single young one yet I have seen fawns by the 10s geese and their young messing up the fields but not a single turkey yet
  21. herniated belly button would be my best guess that or a old injury from a fence or something like that looks a little to far forward to be a infected udder and if was that badly infected (speaking as a dairy farmer) I don't believe she would be in such good shape
  22. if it had multiple small seed bins then its most likely soy bean! the tanks could hold a burn down chemical IE nitrogen or roundup its a little late to be planting any hay making seeds
