  1. Ayyyy, that would be awesome. I take the warmth for now, because we all know what is coming...
  2. It is all about priorities...haha. I spent way more on my bow set up than the $ 100 I bought a muzzleloader of a friend. And i didn't spend a ton on the bow either. One can learn so much about deer behaviour during bow season though.
  3. I never take a quad, might have something to do with not owning one.
  4. Careful you dont hit one biz, money money money...
  5. I just need to find out where they come from...
  6. I agree, middle one for me as well
  7. Finally got some pics of some bucks to get excited about.
  8. I let a big doe walk last year because i didn't have a shot except straight down. I dont like the odds on those. I would rather not shoot than wound a deer.
  9. Chrisw hit the nail on the head,it is a numbers thing.
  10. Yowzer, they look great and related for sure...
  11. Helpful post there stubby, excellent work.
  12. Wow,hope you see him in real life and not too far away. What a beauty.
  13. I got in a tree with my climber last year and had two toung deer and a mature doe come towards me. I was waiting for the big doe,and the two young ones were at the base of my oak tree. The doe never presented a shot until she was 5 yds from my tree, and that was too close for sure when you are 16ft up. She got away, which was ok. This was a new spot, but when i set up i hope to see the deer from 10 to 25 yds.
  14. Awesome Grampy, you did real well. May was not that long ago, great job...
  15. I think I might keep it. My last Robin Hood was 33 years ago...
  16. Not shooting at the same spot twice anymore after this at 29 yds...
  17. Pics are upside down, sorry. First three shots at 27 ish, from top to bottom. Second pic are shots at right middle from 33,and top middle from 42. Pretty happy with it. Not perfect but close...
  18. Soo,i just shot a nice group at 42,now i am gonna shoot at deer up to 50 yds... Just kidding.. I am getting more comfortable at long distance though, doesnt mean i will take a shot at deer that far out though.
  19. I practice out to 40 yds and my groups start to open up beyond what i feel comfortable with would kill a deer quick every time. It is a very personal decision though to limit oneself to a certain yardage, and mine is thirty, maybe 35 if everything is perfect. That being said I havent shot a deer further away then 20 yds yet...
  20. That is why i don't have to worry about it,rarely shoot past 40...
  21. I totally agree with seeing what favor you can do for the landowners. And also agree the handyman sounds like a jerk,so hopefully in time the owners will figure that out. I would be patient for the long term goal of hunting that property. A friend and i have 300 acres to hunt on,and if we couldnt stand each other we would never see each other there...
  22. Mount a flashlight on one of your heavy arrows and you will be all set...
