  1. Second trespassing UTV of the season. No snowmobiles yet. Thankfully, they did not run over the orange fence. Overall, I can't complain how this year is going as far as trespassers go. Still, would like to know what kind of UTV this is for future reference. Thanks.
  2. SAHN, do you sleep on a regular pillow? I use a cpap pillow, which has stiff "cradle" support under the neck. Even if you don't use a cpap, it might be beneficial for your neck issue.
  3. Groupon has The Yelling Goat gift certificates at 38% off. Put in SAVE25 code to make it 53% off. See details and order at https://www.groupon.com/deals/the-yelling-goat I bought one. Looking forward to using it.
  4. It has three points of attachment, the receiver and then two metal turnbuckles that attach to the frame under the bed. One thing I remembered, in full disclosure, is that my Kubota is an older one that came with a 1-1/4' hitch receiver. The newer ones come with a 2". But unless the construction and welding is different on a 2" version, I don't think it matters.
  5. My wife and I was in Ithaca/Finger Lakes past two days as well. Stopped by one of my wife's favorite wineries, King's Garden, Sauder's [Mennonite grocery store] and tried a few restaurants in Ithaca (Ithaca Gateway BBQ Kitchen and Agava). Beautiful region.
  6. I tried the farmboy last year with a disc on my Kubota RTV900. It broke within the first hour. Fortunately, I bought it through Northern Tool and they accepted the return. Maybe I just was pushing it too hard with the weight of the disc I had, and it would be OK with a smaller one. I don't know. It was the same size/type of disc they show on their youtube video. This year, I am going to look for a regular tractor with a three point hitch.
  7. I feel for you and your loss, Greg.
  8. I was in Dash's snacks/beer aisle today and they had little quirt bottles of flavoring to add flavors to your beer. Don't remember the exact flavors. I thought the idea was a bit, how shall we say, off putting to a purist. The stout you described above, TF, sounds great. i wonder if one exists like that.
  9. Peanut oil. You need a high smoking point oil for deep frying a Turkey. After use, filter and store un fridge to reuse
  10. grampy, couldn't you get an medical exemption under the current rules that would allow you to use a crossbow during regular bow season?
  11. Anybody remember the movie Only the Lonely with John Candy, Ally Sheedy and Maureen O'Hara? Danny : [takes both his mother and Theresa out to dinner for them to meet for the first time] Ma, this is Theresa. Theresa, this is my mother. Theresa : [smiles, shaking her hand] Pleased to meet you, Mrs. Muldoon. Rose : Rose. I'm Rose. Theresa : Rose. Rose : Mm-hmm. Oh, that's a lovely dress you're wearing. Theresa : Oh, thank you. Rose : Even though it is a little big on top. Danny : Ma. Rose : Well, it is. You said so yourself. Theresa : No, that's a-a problem I have. I'm really not that endowed on top. Rose : You're built like a thirteen-year-old boy. Danny : Ma, would you please don't start? Rose : It's a joke. I'm trying to make jokes here. I'm trying to lighten things up a little. [the waiter arrives to take their drink orders and Theresa requests a vodka double on the rocks] Rose : A vodka drinker. Danny : Well, ma, Theresa's probably a little nervous, you know, being here with us and all. You know, you can understand that. Rose : It's the first signs of alcoholism. Danny : What? Rose : I read it in Reader's Digest. Theresa : Rose, I can assure you I'm not an alcoholic. Rose : Oh, denial - that's another symptom. The article said that one shot of vodka was equal to all of the calories in a ham sandwich. Theresa : [laughs] Good. Maybe then I'll gain some weight and grow breasts for you. [Rose looks at her distastefully and says nothing]
  12. Yeah, enamel covered cast iron dutch ovens work well for recipes like this. You can do all the sauteing on the stove top and then simmer it covered in the oven at a low temp.
  13. congrats. I would like to do a similar move, to a property with huntable land, but tough to find a house that checks all the boxes.
  14. How long do you simmer it, Otto? I wonder if a longer cooking time mellows out the spices.
  15. One time I surprised my wife with takeout from that place. She was thrilled. Good, authentic Polish food.
  16. Yes, in the aisle of Restaurant Depot. They come precooked and presplit. Just need to heat them up till the skin is crispy and then put on a sauce for flavor.
  17. broiled duck with teriyaki sauce along with potato pierogies
  18. what do you do with the harvested wheat? process it for flour? feed for animals? congrats on your yield.
  19. There are a bunch of articles out recently about CWD and how it might be more transmittable to humans than previously thought, citing a study that showed that macaque monkeys, close cousins to humans, can get CWD from eating infected meat (or having it injected in their brain . . . .) The article that appears to have kicked off the current round of articles is from Colorado link (It has some cool pictures, btw.) All of the current batch of articles cite a Canadian health advisory link that came out in April of last year. This advisory is based on a white paper that came out in March of last year link. So why the new rash of articles, when there is no new info out? One notable thing from the March 2017 white paper is the following text: But these findings are from a different 2015 study. So scary stuff, but again, nothing new. So why all of the articles all of a sudden? (Really, I just miss 4SW as he hasn't been around much last the few days.)
  20. thanks. I forgot to ask, should I oil around where the firing pin assembly touches the face of the breech plug or the outside of the barrel? Last question, to clean the outside of the scope, just a damp rag? Windex? thanks again.
  21. I finally got around to cleaning my muzzleloader (yes, I know, should have done it weeks ago.) It has a Nitride-treated Bergara barrel. On the bottle of the CVA barrel blaster cleaning patches it says to wipe with a dry patch, and then with Barrel Blaster Rust Prevention patches once clean. It sounds like the Barrel Blaster Rust Prevention patches are a type of oil. Can I use regular gun oil, like Rem Oil for this step? (I know the solvents/cleaning patches for muzzleloaders are completely different than regular guns, but what about the rust prevention/oil part?) If not, i will just suck it up and order the Barrel Blaster Rust Prevention patches. Thanks.
