Hoping to arrow my first Spring long beard this year.....

Had a great morning out at the farm I hunt in Ma... Found 5 long beards and 4 Jakes so far... Here are a few pics...

I couldn't do P90X due to 3 knee surgeries... Doing a cardio routine though, 30 minutes, 3-4 times a week...

I'm down 21 as of last Friday.. Not bad with banquet's and show season here... State chapter pres. of the NWTF, got to go to shows and banquets...

I had a Marlin 450, called it "Sidewalk Chalk" do to the shell's looks... Recoil is stout for sure... I had a red dot on it... You could pick up a moving target so fast with that... Got in a mood one day and sold it though... no particular reason.. just wanted something different...

They grow great for the farmer I hunt on his land, Columbia cty..... has 100's of acres of it..

Was thinking the same... have a can of Blackhorn 209 and primers shipped to him... and then just bring speed loaders and some slugs and cleaning supplies and I would be set..... This is starting to develope nicley!!! LOL and Thanks everyone!!!

Not sure how easy I can get Black powder to Africa.... But the second trip has me thinking of trying it...

For Africa this August, I was planning on taking my T/C Pro Hunter in 30-06, but some friends at T/C are working to get me the new Dimension in 30-06 and a .338 win mag (Which there were only two barrels made in that caliber so far, not a production caliber yet), so if they can get me that gun I'll take that... The Moose and bear hunt in NFL will be with my pro hunter in 50 cal muzzle loader.. (I would take the dimension as a back up)... Then the next trip to Africa in 2014 will be with.... um... not sure yet.. LOL... I am flying high right now... Can't believe my good fortune... Going to ride it for as long as I can, I spent a lot of time at thew other end of the spectrum, so I feel I've earned this... ;-)

Well... As I've posted here.... I'm gonig to Africa trhis August for my honeymoon... Then got a hunt for moose in Newfoundland next October... Well, this past Saturday at my local NWTF banquet, I got a second Africa hunt for 2014 with the same PH I'm using this August. So any animals I can't swing this trip, I'll take in two years!!! We stole the hunt this time at the banquet, so I couldn't pass it up!!! Man, my next three years are booked with some great hunts!!!!

JHaven't gotten down to Cabelas yet to look at what I can try... I live in Mass. so no one will ship stuff to my house... Right now worknig on the 180 grain load for my 30-06 to take to Africa... but this load is next on my hit list... I'll start with T/C and Hornady 300 grainers though, and go from there...

So I take it the general concensus is to go up tp 300 grainers...?? Should I go with a bonded slug???
