Its kind of a joke. Anyone of us or someone with some sort of survival skills would be fine. Give me a 12G or my bow and Ill do just fine. Remember Bucky Phillips he had the whole entire Police Dept looking for him and they knew what town he was in and still took them what seemed like weeks to find him.
Thanks NFA-ADK great advice. I know I want to keep it within range of distance and time due to it will be first time. The reason for canoe in would be to carry game if lucky enough and gear
Thanks I'm going to look into some land that of course permits this, then proceed to scout. The thought of a canoe trip or pack in? I will have to do a search on the DEC website first where I want to go.
Ok something I always wanted to do is go on a backcountry overnight hunt. How many of you have done one of these excursions? I'm looking for a state land that you can camp in during hunting season. What are some of the items I need and what I need to know? Thanks
I used to go to oak orchard, Burt, and even Johnsons Creek years ago. I still have my fly rod and gear to go just not as fun as walking in the woods. Atleast for me that is.
I have a Halon 6 that I got last year and love this bow. But this forum has a huge Elite following that has me intrigued. I shot an elite when I bought my Halon just wasn't that impressed. It had so much let off I felt like I had to push the string after pulling the release. I'd like to look into a target bow but just not in the cards at this time.
My favorite is my Browning A5 sweet 16 Belgium ( Safe queen ) Favorite Bow is a Bear Whitetail I was 13 when I got that bow before my first shotgun..
Both retired but I bring out my Dads Ithaca Pump on a nice small game hunt
Great topic by the way
Black gold accent gets my vote. HHA is popular and Spot hog I hear good things about. Depends some like different wheel or sliders. Good luck with your search
I had luck in the past after a response then hit them with the pup in distress call. That may get them curious doesn't matter that pups aren't born they can't resist the feeling to protect
